Honda Carland Reviews

  • Apr 25, 2015

Purchase a Honda Civic in September of 2013. Salesman made me believe this was a hybrid car since it had the letters “HF” after the name CIVIC. I was never told this car had no spare tire. The mileage has not been impressive for the supposed “Hybrid”: An average of 30 if I keep it on “Eco” which means that it has less power. On March 2015 one of the tires exploded and I had to call a private road assistance service, and then found out that instead of the spare tire, the car came with a glue stick kit and a Styrofoam piece where the tire should be. I then had to have the car towed to a car dealer and pay whatever price they asked for the new tire at that time.

No chance to search for a good price. I ended up paying about $400 for this event. When I went to Honda Carland to inquire about the spare that I had never been told about, the only people who would talk to me were salesmen and they were pretty nasty. The original salesman is not there and the other salesmen did not disclose their names. They laughed at me for coming to inquire about a car problem a year and a half later. They refused to compensate me for at least part of my expense. They did not take responsibility for the fact that by not telling me this car has no spare tire, they put my life in danger since this could have happen in a dangerous isolated site in the middle of the night. Honda doesn’t disclose anywhere in the documentation that this car has no spare tire. The car I was initially shown did have a spare tire.

Also, the only reason this is supposedly a “Hybrid” is that it has not spare tire and therefore it weighs less. Also because you have the option of going “ECO” with less power.

I don’t recommend Hondas anymore. In my experience for every model, Toyota, Subaru, Hyundai, or Nissan (Leaf) have better options than Honda. Honda doesn’t rank among the safest cars either. A company that deceives customers with the spare tire to save a few bucks, hoping you only realize it later and they can laugh at your for not finding it earlier, and by making you believe it gives good mileage when it’s really the lack of spare tire, it’s probably cutting corners somewhere else. Please don’t ever go to Honda Carland.

The nasty salesmen told me that if I went on line to report this, they would also go and deny it. That they also write a lot of good reports about themselves to compensate for the negative reports.

Don’t deal with car dealers, buy online and do all your homework exhaustively not to be ripped off.
