I’ve personally blacklisted Enigma as a software company. Like so many others, they use trick tactics in order to get you to purchase the software. Don’t buy their garbage. People who use trickery do not deserve honest customers.

Spyhunter has been identified by Spybot and Zonealarm (on my computer) as a virus. In Spybot it says that Spyhunter will generate it’s own malware so it can remove it. Is that true? Has anyone else heard this?

I purchased spyhunter to get rid of a virus that my freebie software could not remove.. They charged me double the cost, refused to return my email, and now, the pop ups and spam is worse than ever. My freebie software recognized spyhunter as a virus also… BAD NEWS STAY AWAY!

THis is a dangerous company. I realized I made a mistake when I first paid for and downloaded the product. But imagine how angry I was when another $30 charge showed up on my credit card 6 months later. This is what I imagine to be their big “secret.” A time bomb so to speak. I defy anyone to try to find any good contact information to discuss billing with them. Please be very careful when considering this company.

I just used an updated Spybot and an updated PC-Cillin to erase all malware on my PC. However, there was one called Smitfraud.C that Spybot was not able to remove in its entirety. I Googled it, in order to find removal methods others hae tried, and found a link to a “Smitfraud.C Removal Tool”, which actually directed me to a site run by Spyhunter. I was instructed to download their custom Smitfraud.C removal program and install it, or else follow a lengthy process of manual deletion of core system files and registry entries.
I’ve been a tech for a while. I fix computers. I’ve got multiple certs…
I saw that some of the .dll and .sys files that were being suggested to remove would disable some security functions in Internet Explorer, and might even cause Windows Explorer itself to not funtion properly. Also, some of the regitstry entries listed as being part of the Smitfraud.C trojan were, in fact, not.
I knew that this was a fraud, and so I downloaded it and installed it (knowing that PC-Cillin and Spyware would cover each other’s tracks and detect it if it were), and sure enough, it was picked up by both my programs, and guess what?
It even installed and ran, in less than ONE MINUTE, two OTHER spyware/trojan programs, called DeepDive and NoAdware. This was blatant invasion, and I’m curently in the process of looking these guys up and complaining to the BBB, my state commerce office, and others…
If they are respnsible for the creation and/or distribution of these other two spyware/trojan programs, then I’d say that makes them a very bad product to deal with.
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, DEAL WITH SPYHUNTER OR ENIGMA SOFTWARE GROUP. THEY ARE CREATORS AND DISTRIBUTORS OF SPYWARE, TROJANS, WORMS, AND OTHER MALWARE. THEIR SUPPOSED “ANTI-SPYWARE” PROGRAMS ACTUALLY INSTALL SPYWARE ONTO YOUR SYSTEM.
