We have tandem parking at our residential building in a "secure" parking garage. The gate is always malfunctioning and does not close immediately after the car goes through. There is a 30 second delay which makes it easy for someone to sneak in.

My roomate's car was stolen between 10:30pm and 7:00am yesterday. The culprit also broke into my car and stole the garage opener.

We immediately notified the police upon realizing what had happened. We then called the manager of the building who works for HPG Management. She met with us and told us that the garage stays open because another tenant knows how to manuever it to keep it open. Many days the garage door remains open for hours without us knowing when its closed.

We asked her to changed the device code since a thief now has a working opener. She said she needs 24 hours to notify other tenants. Its been over 24 hours and the code has still not been changed. She also blamed us, the tenants, for the theft and told me i am responsible to pay $50 for the replacement garage opener. I have a police report showing that it was stolen along with a car in their garage. She told me it was not her fault that it was stolen and i would have to pay the $50 regardless. We also never received a copy of our lease and i have asked for a copr and she said she doesnt believe we dont have a copy and we probably lost it.

This has been the worst experience of my life and this company has absolutely no empathy and they are extremely unprofessional. Do not rent from them please. Its a nightmare.
