As everyone i did short research on ic system and ended up here! here is my story and it may be helpful for others.So about 2 years ago i found on my credit history collection account from ATT for 74$!and guess what? i am still their customer and paying my bills on time,never was late, and they are around 200-300/month.but somehow ATT f%%%%% up and they send me to collection w/out any notice that i owe 74 bucks to them.so after hours on the phone with ATT,
finally they found my debt and i was told that they have sent me bill(which i never received of course) but i never paid this 74$.fun is that i have autopay and regular bills is 200-300.told them it is supposed to be a mistake how could i miss payment if am still paying....Uh....no results.asked them to remove record from collection and from c/history in exchange of payment this 74$.they refused that coz what is done it is done!so i refused to pay.any way they crashed my credit history,and payment will not cure my credit.that was just start of all fun...2 years after about month ago i got call from ic system.
phone was local WY it was saying ic system i picked up and lady asked me on my name i even confirmed that,coz i work in trucking business so brokers calling me all the time and they know your name.stupid me...so she start asking standard questions described in other guys reviews.we got to the point when she told me that i owe 74$ to them,and i will need to pay it NOW!so again took me 30 min to explain to her what i described above and also i told her that this stuff is ALREADY on my credit history posted under different collection agency! she was,huh,no im not seeing any record there(but i know it was there coz i checking it regular),
if you will not pay WE will post it!i even tryed to negotiate payment in exchange of removing record(but only with written notice from them),she verbally agreed to do that,like ok you pay and it will fall off from record in a month.but hey! i was asking a written notice!got answer:no we dont give any kind of notices,it will fall of in a month.after about an hour on the phone negotiations i sad, ok if you not takin it down i am not paying,and try to get this 74 bucks from me,good luck with that.couple weeks later it is appeared on my file as brand new collection account opened in april 2014.
what IC system did,they bought this account from old agency which failed to get money from me and post as new one which is ILLEGAL.coz when collections agencys rebuying accounts from each others they can not change date when it was originally opened,it just would not be making any sense all the time update you old collection debt.it will be impacting your score forever.so according to this i filed a dispute online with credit bureau where it was posted.explained in few words why am disputing this and ask to either remove record or correct with original date opened.received email from bureau that process will take up to 30 days to investigate situation.
i was really angry coz all my score went down again 50 points.by the way my score is not HOT it was 677 before -50 points.im am recovering after few missed c/c payments.couple years ago.so you know how it feels when you got up from around 450 to 677 in three years and some ###### #####rs ruined it again.but hehey! next day after filing complaint i received another letter on my email from bureau stating that collection account was not corrected but REMOVED!
Happy me!score on that bureau went back 50 points ride away!but it is not end of the story....this i###ts(ic system) just sent same info to different bureau(again with updated open date april 2014)so just before writing this post i filed dispute again.will see what the Experian will discover in this case.hope my post will save someone time and money and help to rebuild their credit score.it worked for me and i bet will work for others who have similar updated original opening date on collection account.even with different collection agency.
yep and forgot to say they calling me about 5-6 times a week
