Door to door meat sales. They see you in your yard and will stop and solisite their meat products. Steaks and burgers.
The meat has been water soaked to add weight. Some of the cuts like the filets are not filets, just a fatty, grissally cut to look like filets. T-bones are tasteless and full of water. Burgers are fatty.
I just happened to be outside when this guy approached me and said he had a lot of steaks, chicken and seafood that someone had ordered and they were not home so he was trying to get rid of what he had. He first gave me a price of over $300 for several items. I told him I could not afford that and he finally gave me 3 items for a cost of $100 and told me if I didn't like the items I could return them. What he didn't tell me was that I had to return them within 3 days. I tried two items that we just didn't like so he offered to come over and give me something else. I really just wanted some of my money back, but that wasn't happening. He exchanged two of the items and gave me one item as an exchange and said he would bring the other item back the following week. All of this was in July - it is now September. I have called Iowa Steaks several times and they said they would be there two days after I called. I called to tell them nobody showed up and said I would really like my money back. The girl said the boss would call me the next day - a week later and still waiting. I will never buy from these people again. Looks like I have been scammed!!!
