My i-phone died so i thought it was the battery and i called mad macs in pittsfield massachusetts and they said i would have to take it to the holyoke mall and also gave me a customer service number for Apple, i called what i thought was apple tec and a support tec came on and said they can fix my i-phone and told me to connect it to the computer i told him my apple cables didnt work and i have a 3rd party charger with the plug attached, i was told to connect the i-phone to the computer with cables i knew didnt work and he said its working when i new it wasnt then he said to hold power button and home button and said see i fixed your i-phone.

then he said my computer is clogged thats why its running slow, so he talked my into getting a contract and hard drive, i kept saying no its too much money and they are fast talkers and said that i would have support for all my Apple divices. i kept saying this is a scam and he said no its not, i will fix your computer and the screen kept going black so i couldnt see what they were doing.

after that they has access to my computer by remote I remembered that my tax returns were on my desktop and there was a green dot next to the icon, i beleive they downloaded my tax information with me and my husband and childrens social security numbers and birth dates.

now im extremely concerened and i dont know why i let them talk me into this i beleive this is in deed a scam and now they can use my families social security numbers it open accounts and possibily take my and my childrens money from our bank accounts.

My husband died 3 months ago and i get his social security benefits and im also a disabled veteran and get veterans benefits. i have enought problems now with my husbands death now im so worried they will use my informstion for fraudulent accounts in my families name.

when i realized what a huge mistake i made it was to late they already have our information, and after it downloaded they were screaming and laughing and clapping i guess they were proud of themselves for scamming me. now sometimes i can hear them in background noise when im on my housephone.

I got myself into this mess on Saturday afternoon June 7 th 2014, at around midnight i tried to call them and cancel and the tec wouldnt do it and when i was on the phone with a tec someone elese from iyogi left a creepy message like they were angry i wanted to cancel service.

I called this morning and told then i want a complete refund and they said they would refund me for 171.00 for the hard drive and that they would take 150.00 off contract, they said i will have service for 1 year and i would get 6 months free, they refused to fully refund my all of my money.

they also put software on my computer so they can access it, there was also copy of my hard drive icon that said hard drive alias and i put that one in the trash.

the first person i spoke with name is M Jaya Krishna, the other person i didnt write his name down.

its bad enought my husband died and i have 4 small children who's information was stolen. Please help me and advise me on what to do.

I accidentally called iYogi thinking it was Norton.com support. I wanted help uninstalling an old Norton program.

The bottom line: after letting their person have access to my computer, and after refusing their offer to 'fix' my computer, it will not restart. While the computer button shows 'on' there is no activity noise telling me it is running through its systems .

And I get 'no signal' showing on my screen even though the cord connections are as secure now as they were when I first called them.

When I called iYogi back to tell them about these problems they offered to help me get my computer going again for a fee, which I refused.

Google should remove this business as a search result.

Iyogi - based in India - seems to be beyond the reach of American law, but, as a serious threat to consumers, we need to publish it's misbehaviors. Here's my sad story.

In a hurry on Saturday, 3/22/14, I clicked what I thought was a Java update icon. The next window was highly suspicious, so no more clicking, other than trying to close the ""update window.""

It wouldn't close.

Moved away & tried to continue browsing, but couldn't get to my chosen sites. All links were redirected to ads for games and garbage that I never touch. Blew them away as fast as I could, but couldn't get to my sites because they were either blanked out or immediately redirected.

Ran my two anti-virus programs and removed a few adware files. Went back to a browser window - still bugged. Noticed that an anti-virus service I'd never before contacted was telling me my PC was ""infected."" No Kidding!

The anti-virus ""service"" was arrogant enough to put their name and phone number in several of the pop-ups! Not expecting much, I wasn't surprised when the Tech couldn't deal with anything but a ""laptop or desktop."" When informed that it was a netbook, she repeated her question - ""Laptop or desktop?""

She wanted my name, phone number, and permission to access my PC. I refused, telling her that her company infected it, so she could tell me how to remove the infection. I wouldn't let her near my PC. She kept asking ""Laptop or dektop?""

I demanded to speak to a supervisor, but she hung up.

A search for ""iYogi removal"" (from my iPad) turned up www.malwaretips.com, among other sites. MalwareTIps has a very thorough series of steps that eliminated the problem.

Here in Ripoff Report, there are numerous reports of people with similar experience dealing with the IYogi help desk. This report should not be the first one concerning the deliberate infecting of a PC by IYogi.

I bought a PC optimizer software Total Defence PC Tune Up from Tiger Direct at tigerdirect.com 800 800 8300 Turns out that the instructions with the CD urge the buyer to call 877 559 5873 to get live free installation and unlimited product support and open www.1mb.com at the same time. Turns out that the phone call goes to a fraudulent outfit in Gurgaon, a suburb of New Delhi, India. All these guys do is to try to get you to allow them access to your PC and infect it, and then claim that so much is wrong and try to get you to give them your credit card number to charge you for ""repairing"" your PC to return it to normal functioning. That too in not too polished English. Refer to Ripoff Reports 1134291 dated 27 March 2014`by JeanEB Cocoanut Beach FL and to reports 1133637 dated 25 March 2014 report 1117685 22 March 2014 and 1116420 dated 17 Jan 2014. Their victim experience is the same as mine. Both Tiger Direct at 800 800 8300 and 800 955 1888 who highly recommend buying this PC performance optimizer software through them and Total Defence Inc 555, Twin Dolphin Drive Suite 610 Redwood City, CA 94065 are complicit in perpetrating this fraud in urging people in bold colorful print giving the toll free (as though it is based in the US) 877 559 5873 enclosed with the software, to call the fraudulent iYogi Inc tech support in India just so they can be set up to be ripped off.
