These iYogi people are a bunch of scam artists. First of all, they hate dealing with women. When my computer went nuts after a power drop I called Dell and they informed that they had sold their service department for their out of warranty computers. They gave me the phone number of the company and it was a USA exchange. It was supposed to be free diagnostic but I had to paid this company called iYogi $149.99 to tell my if my computer had a problem. Three weeks later my computer would not go on line so I contacted them. Their tech person said that they would call me back. They called three days later, on a Sunday. The tech tried for 20 minutes to fix the computer and then told me that he could not fix it or even tell me what was wrong with it. Now get this, he tells me to bring the computer to a repair shop and have then diagnose the problem and then call him back and tell him what the shop said. I tell him that the shop charges $80 and he said "do you want the computer fixed or not?" It was a simple network card problem that anyone who fixes computers should know how to diagnose. This company. iYogi does not have any qualified computer tech people working there. Do not do business with these people, ever. I do not know why a company like Dell would do business with a company located in India, The computer scam capitol of the world. Had I known that I was calling India I never would have used them. I now have a contract that is completely useless.

They accessedd by compuer, but did not fix the problem. They demanded money which I felt was excessive (150.+) and said they'd keep my pc running great for 1 year, after that I'd owe again. A few months later, they called and since I was still having problems, I told them I'd given the computer away. I told them I can't afford their 'service' and they should stop calling me. About every 2-3 months, they call again, and even though I've told them I nolonger have a computer of my own, they insist. They ask when I will have one, and I've told them probably never, but they continue to call.

I received several missed calls on my cell phone this week (about 2 or 3 per day) and yesterday I answered on from an 'unavailable' number. It was i-yogi. I demanded they stop calling me, and told them I'd be reporting the abuse. The person spoke very softly, and very poor English, so I don't know if he understood or not.

I was calling the Lenovo for my laptop support, and was taken by this company, without I knowing (I thought it was Lenovo), they hard sell me a service for $900+ dollars for a service.

When I called them for the computer optimize, they told me I have to buy an external drive from them because ONLY that match my computer even though I told them I have a lot external hard drive. I pais $199.00 for the hard drive for 5TB, after I receiving the hard drive, I find out on the hard drive box, it says 5TB, but once connected to the compyter, it ONLY has 31.9GB, huge difference. I believe this box was not made by authorized

manufacture, I hope spme one could go after this and find out what they are doing. I think it is not ONLY ripe off, there might be some crime there.

All the technitian support speak very poor English with big India accent, very hard to work with! I believe the whole team is from India, not in American, BTW, the hard drive is made by China.

The tech support was good at first. I purchased an additional product they said would better "protect" my laptop '"automatically". Shortly thereafter, my laptop would barely run. I demanded a refund, they removed the software and refunded my money. My laptop's perormance immediately improved...for a while. Everytime I sought assistance under the plan I purchased, they tried to sell me more "protection" I would decline, telling them of my previous experience. Each time I sought help, they would further sabotage my computer. It barely runs now.

Iyogi is a ripoff that destroyed my new laptop

About 28 days ago I downloaded and installed SpyHunter 4 from Enigma software because I picked up a rootkit that completely took over my Goggle Chrome. SpyHunter immediately got rid of the rootkit along with a huge amount of other spyware some 8600 items in all.

Well as of yesterday May 12 2015 I called tech support because SpyHunter kept finding a file appdataFr3.bin. This file kept appearing unknown to SpyHunter. SpyHunter kept asking me if I recognized the file which I did not so I searched it in Goggle and found it to be most likely a part of a virus. So I deleted it and it kept coming back.

From what I understand there some files that will mutate and hide from malware removal software and this requires special tactics to remove it. When I installed SpyHunter on my system I also installed there support phone number on my phone. This way I could have help at my fingertips.

So I began explaining my problem to tech support innocently unaware that it was not Enigma software tech support. I don’t know how they did that. But this guy played right along and told me that my SpyHunter could not find this virus because it was already on my computer before I installed SpyHunter and that sometimes happens. He then told me that he would need to do a scan of my computer to see what he would have to do to get rid of it.

So I let him run the scan and it found problems in 4 deferent areas my registry showed 200 errs so he said that he would have to have a tech connect to my computer to remove it manually. He said that it would be $149.00 to fix it. I told him that I could not afford that right now. I said I thought that SpyHunter 4 had free tech support he said that because it was requiring the tech to connect to my computer that was not free.

We went round and round over the price some more he dropped the price to $98.00 and offered to connect me with customer support for a refund on SpyHunter. Well I actually like SpyHunter very well and did not want to get rid of it. So I had him wait until I checked to see if I had room on my emergency credit card. I did so I put it on there. The tech connected and did a bunch of stuff took about 45-50 min.

He installed Support Dock on my computer. Then he told me to check to see if the problem was fixed. So I did and the problem seemed to be gone. That appdataFr3.bin file was nowhere to be found. I finely started to think something was not right a couple hours later after checking out the stuff that he had installed on my computer and I could not seem to find anything indicating that it was from Enigma software. Fortunately I did not let him talk me into getting rid of SpyHunter.

I did a restart a couple hours later and SpyHunter Blocked Support Dock from starting as unrecognized software. That’s when the red light went on and all the flags popped up. So first thing this morning I called tech support and when the tech got on the phone the first thing I asked was where are you. He replied Clear Water Florida.

I said ok do you know who iYogi is. His reply was no. So I told him what had happened and he said that they never charge for any tech support issues and I should call my bank and try to reverse the transaction. The gentleman that I spoke with at the bank said that the transaction was still in process and to call back tomorrow and talk with clams. The tech is going to connect to my computer tomorrow morning and remove this garbage off my computer.

I don’t really know if this software that he installed is any good or not. But as far as I am concerned it could be the best thing out there. But with their unethical business practices they can keep it. I would not have that stuff on my computer if it were free.

I had trouble with a Kodak printer and googled Kodak printer service. I dialed the number one of the top results without realizing it wasn't really Kodak. I spoke to an agent with an Indian accent and just figured Kodak service was outsourced. He told me it was impossible to determine whether the printer was at fault without checking the computer and had me download iYogi software to allow him to take control. He downloaded Mac Keeper, and the analysis showed many corrupted files and security issues. Then he showed me the computer's activity log and all the errors in it. His conclusion was that my computer was at fault, rather than the printer. In fact, every device on our home network was certainly infected, and for $399 his company, iYogi, could protect our network and devices for 3 years. I wasn't about to spend that kind of money, so said I'd think about it.

I thought about it, and then it dawned on me that maybe I'd been tricked! I googled again and found the real number for Kodak! All the printer needed was a new printhead, a $9.99 part that they offered to send for free, since it was my first time!!! I received it within a few days and the printer worked again! The printer was at fault, not the computer, not the network! I could've been out $399 for nothing!

Unfortunately, I found this website after I had already purchased their yearly service contract for over $300. This company is incredibly good at hiding their true colors and I’ve looked extensively for information about this company and I’m only finding reviews written about iYogi, BY iYogi. I believe that they are writing their own reviews because of the grammar and spelling in each of the reviews. They dont seem to be written by someone whose english is their first language.

I digress, our original reason for posting this review: We purchased their service a little over a year ago and have been waiting for it to be over. They constantly call for renewal period, but WE ARE NOT INTERESTED. During that year we had to hire a separate online computer repair company, WWW.safepcfix.com to properly repair our computer. After the second time of having to hire another company to repair the original virus issue we hired them for, we signed up with the year contract with the other company. iYogi consistently failed to diagnose and repair multiple issues with our computer. These were issues that all stemmed from one source. SafePCFix informed us that they run into issues where other computer repair companies do not completely 100% remove the virus infections, causing them to come back stronger in the future. After constant issues and having to cancel iYogi, we now have working computers.

During our tenure with these guys they would tell us we had more problems with our computer than what we actually had. We had to contact another repair service to repair the machine and fix the mistakes they made. This happened on a couple of occasions. We decided it was far better to purchase the actual service agreement from a US based company (ie the one above.) Their technicians were easy to understand and explained the problems that iYogi caused with our machine.

Buyer beware.

Subject Alex Smith called and said he worked for Iyogi Customer Service and offered repair of my computer from now own for $500.00 one time fee. I would not have to pay the yearly fee's. Told to ship the money by Western Union to Surender Gupta in India. Money would be converted to 29,719.45 INR (rupee).

After sending the money decided it was scam and called Western Union and got the money stopped.
