On January 13th, 2013 my daughter reported my son & wife to CPS for drug use. The children were removed from the home and placed with the MATERNAL grandmother who had not been very involved with the 5 children. False accusations were made against me- that I abused prescription drugs. I take Ambien. CPS immediately wanted the maternal grandmother to adopt and so it all began.
I got a lawyer and filed for intervention. $5000.00. I felt she did not know the CPS system and looking back I think she would have given it her all. So I hired Julie Ketterman (advertises and will tell you she has inside relationships). Truth is she took my money and did NOTHING!!! We filed for visitations and in the 8 months she represented me we NEVER went before the judge. Now I called and made numerous complaints against the case worker and REGION 6. Ms. Harrison had mediation at her office between me and the maternal GP. She said ""I am going to recommend Paternal GP get week-end unsupervised visits. We go to mediation and she says I am unstable. WHY. Because MGP would not agree to it. Although I had 1 hour visit at CPS supervised and was awarded 4 hours visitation with MGP SUPERVISING
! We go to court order mediation. New lawyer. I am forced to sign continued supervised visits with MGP who got PMC and parent JMC. If I had not signed they would make SURE the parents’ rights were terminated. Out of fear the parents wanted to sign so I had no choice, Okay here is the great part. Why supervised? I enable my son & daughter-in-law because I bought a house and rented it to them for stability for grandkids. They were on methadone and I could not do anything about that. Their house was messy, but they brought the kids to my house or meet me outside.
""Supposedly"" I knew this and did nothing. However the month I found out they were using other drugs and info from one of their friends i was going to call a lawyer when I returned from my uncle’s funeral. Another reason my mother dies and I went to her house because she would not answer the phone because we were all upset and my dad wanted to see the kids. My mom died and only got to see my granddaughter twice. So I was unstable for being upset about my mother death, the next thing the MGP told them is that while we were at the Aquarium I left my granddaughter to help a 4 yr. old girl that was lost. She was watching my granddaughter and i could still see her 5 ft. away. Wow, she made me out to be this horrible woman.
I am sure most of you would have done the same things. I have spent $25,000.00 dollars. We went to the next mediation last week. The ad lidem who stood in for Gary pollard from the very beginning and signed at least 8 documents was now the MGP lawyer and signed as lawyer on the final papers. Even though I said it was unethical and conflict of interest, This is now irrevocable but I need this over turned. I am out of money and will have to do fundraiser and develop a website. I WANT JUSTICE. How very sad our system is. CPS does some really good thing, but to take my grandchildren who have rooms, toys.
Clothing and have had a relationship with me for 9 years. Friends and neighbors and even people at the corner store can vouch for me. I had them almost every week-end. This is so wrong on every level and I understand every case is different. But CPS should not be allowed to do this to a close family. My son & daughter-in-=laws want my side of the family to see the kids. They have a graetgrandfather, who they adore, cousins they have not even met. We are a large family. Their family consists of 4. Please. Doesn’t it take a village to raise a child?
Also MGP knew about situation and did nothing. Where was she that she didn't know anything. Let's get real here.
