JNT Performance Reviews

  • Mar 7, 2015

I worked at JnT Performance for a little over 3 weeks and was paid only a fraction of the time I was there. They owe me 1175.50. Jack Truex, the part owner claims I was doing piece work to which I was never informed. I signed on for hourly work not piece work. Whatever the case I was not paid for 75 hours of work.

When I worked there I noted that they took many deposits from customers but never completed any tasks. I figured that because their rates were so low that they could perform the work at their pace. It started to become clear during my second week when I was only paid a fraction of my hours worked that they were taking people's cars, car parts and money and not performing their contractual obligation. This was appart over Xmas of 2014 when I was with them when they picked up a Chevy SUV and promised to rebuild the engine and have the job done in two weeks. I kept asking when we were going to start working on the truck since the due date was fast arriving to which they said tomorrow or soon, which is what they always say.

When they let me go because I wouldn't work until they settled up with me they had two days to perform the work to which they promised.

Additionally I saw them take parts from people's cars and put them on other cars. They never, ever rebuilt an engine. They might put new connecting rod bearings in the engine with a cheap gasket set and lots of spray paint. I offered to sell them parts I had from my bin and they never accepted preferring to use customer cars as parts cars. I saw them take parts from many first generation Mustangs and a Bronco. They sold a guy a rebuilt 5.3 litre Chevy engine, but instead got one from a junk yard that had been severely cooked in a fire.

The contract they will get you to sign is open ended and leaves them with no liability or any promises whatsoever. The owner seems to have spent a great deal of time in jail which is apparent since he deals only in cash, pretends to be sick all of the time or many other excuses on why he didn't come through.

If something is too good to be true, it usually is. They are excellent con artists. They have gotten dozens of folks' to fork over hard earned cash never to see their car or engine again or if they do it is worst off then prior to bringing it to Jack Truex or Tyler Wright.
