We hired John Mammosser to install some carpet we had purchased. He also did the carpet measurements and we thought he knew how to handle evertyhing. His price seemed fair and we thought he was also coming recommended by the company we purchased the carpet from.

He arrived on-time with 2 other individuals to handle the carpet install. They seemed to be taking forever to do the work and we later found out why. The 2 indiviuals with them were brand new to carpet installation and the mistakes came through quickly. The carpet was cut short in multiple rooms. The "fix" they attempted was to lay strips of extra carpeting over the tack strips so we wouldn't notice. Multiple areas had exposed tack strips as well. The carpet was not laid the same direction and all the seams were visible. We also found that he didn't measure correctly and the main hallway had multiple section pieced togeter. I would have gladly paid for more carpet to have it done correctly, but he ensured me that his measurements would be fine.

We also had him buy/install/reimburse for padding, but found (after we paid another company to fix) that some rooms didn't even have new padding installed like we paid for. We even saw him leaving with extra padding "for another job" but didn't realize he cut us short until after we had someone else fix.

John originally came by to fix, but it was still unacceptable. He even left without us saying the repairs were fine. We had tried to stop the initial check my wife paid him with (problems areas were not easy to spot as they left alll the trimmings everywhere, so it looked a mess until we started to clean it up.

As stated, we had to get out a real carpet installer to correct. He said it was the worst carpet instal he's seen in his 25 years of experience. As another report indicated John will also try to quote everything under the sun that he sees that he can do. Don't do it. Finally, after persisting John said he would give us a refund for our troubles, but later recanted. We've filed claims with the BBB and Attorney General as well.
