John Spina (Lawyer) is the owner a 24 town house affordable housing project in Campbellford Ontario. John Spina was paid 2,200,000.00 to build these houseing unit by the federal government. John Spina hired local contractors to complete work on his project and then pulled the ultimate SCAM, he will not pay 5 of his contractors, totaling $217,000.00.
John Spina will not answer there phone calls unless tricked with a phone number he does not reconize and will not talk about paying.
When these contractors got to a piont near the end of the project and asked for a DRAW that was owed to them, he then refused.
John Spina then hired other contractors to finish very small amounts of work and in some cases, he will not pay do to fabricated defect, and jacking up the defect bill to very large amounts of money.
At one point John Spina hired a drywall company and after all there materials were on site, John Spina hired another company to use the others materials.
My warning to other contractors that are thinking about working for John Spina, think again, John Spina ias a lawyer and will use every trick in the book to avoid paying his workers. He will fight you tooth and nail, and will make it look easy.
He does not care how he ruins and will never admit to any wrong doing.
I can only hope that justic will prevail and the Police will see it for the intentional fraud that it is.
PS, John Spina talks a good talk, he likes to use the words "good faith" and "man of my word" and "honorable"
These are words that he must be laughing under his breath as he says them.
