My laptop was not performing well so I clled a number that was provided when I contacteed MSN-Support on the Internet. Tis company, Geekstechs, took control of my laptop and after 3 hours of work, declared it "clean".
Two days later I had a repeat of 2 new sites , ASL and Yahoo in my top menu lines. I called hem back and after a week of trying to schedule another session, a different tech took 2 hours to "clean " my system up. This cost was $199.00.
One day later, I received a "renewal notice" for AVG which I had not used in 2 yers. When I called them, they looked at my Laptop and found a major security exposure by numerous iterations of a MSN Module RUNDLL31.exe. This module has been published , by MSN, as being a back door to any computer for virus etc entry.. In addition , all security monitoring and checking was turned off. For this I had to pay $199 for them to fix my laptop.
I want some reimbusement from GEEKSTECHS for the incompetent effort in the first place.
