Almost 12 years my wife and I came back to God and have been active in our local church. Recently we were asked to speak at a Church of God (Anderson) that is tied in with Darryll Allen. he learned about it and mad a phone call to my former pastor from almost 30 years ago. The former pastor fill his ears with lies from what (supossingly) happened 30 years ago.
Darryl Allen called my local pastor and repeated the lies that was told to him. INTERESTING THINS WAS he never said that these things happened almost 30 years ago. Also, he never told my local pastor that my former pastor (Dave Devoll) kept using me as a minister in his congregation after I SUPPOSINGLY did all of these bad things.
EVEN IF THESE THINGS WERE TRUE - THEY SHOULD NOT BE REPEATED ALMOST 3 DECADES LATER!
*** If Darryl Allen had any wisdom when he heard this juicy gossip he should have called my present pastor and said ""You know I heard some things about Steve and I was not there so I don't know 100% how much of the story is true - all I think is that you should be careful in working with him"". NOOO! He spread the gossip word for word. OH! And when he was backed in to the corner the 2nd time he changed his story and acted like he might have misunderstood Dave Devoll's story.

We are looking in to filing a class action lawsuit against Pastor Dave Devoll of the First Church of God there at Southshore, KY. Just looking for individuals that have been hurt by Pastor Dave Devoll's abuse of his clergical powers. A pastor should have the same respect for his members that a lawyer has for his/her clients and not go blabbing things around the country that are out and out lies of partial lies. In the mid 1970's he followed E. Wilson and started writing books on how ONE CLEANSING WAS THE TRUTH AND TWO CLEANING PREACHERS WERE TEACHING FALSE DOCTRINE!
In the 1980's he split the Sharonville Church of God and took 70 or so people 8 miles up the road to start a church. His reason? They said that Sharonville Church of God was too liberal and allowed the women to wear pants, make-up and jewelry!
(NOTE: I attended his congregation during that time. He gave lots of scriptures to back up his teachings. One day he called me and asked me to drive over to Anderson Campmeeting so that he could buy some books. As I rode with him he proceeded to mock and make fun of the Anderson people calling it a big picnic etc.. Then he told me started telling me about their spit with God's Acres over if a person is allowed to masterbate or not.
He said that Emerson Wilson (pastor there) would preach agains sins of the flesh and the youth would come to the altar needing prayer. He siad Tony Bartlett (who was later sat down by his pastor) would go to the altar and tell the young people that the pastor did not have any scripture to back up his teaching and they could do what they needed. He kept hinting and talking about that subject. I felt real uncomfortable. It was like he was trying to make the move on me.
MY SIN WHEN I WAS ATTENDING DAVE DEVOLS? I let a check come through non-sufficient funds. BACKGROUND ON THAT. When I was in my 20's I was self-employed and not too smart on some things. I could build a business and make it successful but I was not too smart on keeping the checkbook balanced. THAT WAS MY SIN!
DAVE DEVOL AND HIS POPE LEADER DARRYLL ALLEN both have added other sins to that. INTERESTING THING! I preached for Dave Devoll, led his music and even took his choir to a campmeeting MONTHS AFTER the check issue came to light!
I was Brother Steve and in good standing with Dave Devoll until I left him. After his discussion with me about the split over masterbation. It was kind of sickening to me. Why would an adult talk so bold about this discussion? He's a strange fellow.
The church there in Mason dropped in numbers. Dave Devoll left. He took over a conservative church in Niles Michigan. He deceived the former pastor in making him think that he believed the same way that he did.
When Dave started changing things (with his NEW LIGHT that he's alsways getting) the church started loseing people and the former pastor got up a few times to rebuke Dave but only got twice the rebuke from Dave Devoll.
That church was falling a part and Dave left. NOW Dave Devol is with the Anderson Church of God and kissing up to the boys there while taking on job after job to make sure he has power and control. He's pastoring a small church that will never go anywhere. ME? I moved on from Dave Devoll years ago.
NOW? He's starting his gossig campaign and I'm not going to stay quite while DAVE DEVOL AND DARRYL ALLEN RUN THEIR FLAPS ABOUT ME from things they say happened 30 years ago!! Both Darryll Allen & Dave Devol should read the Bible and obey it. They both will burn in HELL!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST. After I came back to God in 2001 God started dealing with me about grudges that I was holding against Dave Devoll for what he did to me almost 30 years ago. ONE DAY I sat down and wrote him a letter apologizing! He called me a few weeks later and talked with me and invited me up to Niles Michigan to see him. I drove up with my famiy one Sunday and went to church.
- He introduced me to the crowd as Brother Steve Wingate
- He took me into his office and showed me around. We talked a little bit.
- I left thinking that everything was clear between Dave Devoll and I.
NOW this trash re-surfaces and is being carried around to different places by Darryl Allen & Dave Devol. We'll see who wins before this is finished. I have nothing to lose and plan on not going away. MOST PEOPLE WILL NOT BELIEVE ME. But enough will. That's what I want.
