My husband started working for this company, KTS Construction, owned by Keith Branham on May 5, 2014. Keith promised him $14.50 per hour and pay every other Friday. He started May 5th and has worked 113 hours as of May 22nd. For these 113 hours, he has been paid $378.37 and had to fight for even that small amount of what he is owed.
Keith makes up stories and changes them constantly to explain why he cannot pay his employees. He told my husband that he could not use money ($25,000) that he had received from a client to pay his employees because it is "not his money" and told him it would be a ponzi scheme if he did. My husband explained that he cannot afford to pay his bills since he has not been paid for three weeks and has been driving an an hour and fifteen minutes each way every day and paying tolls and told Keith he needs to pay up. Keith told him that he would try to get a cash advance on his CREDIT CARD to pay him for a week. When my husband drove to meet him and get his check for one week of work, it was less than $400 and his rate of pay was $12 an hour...He was promised $14.50.
This guy is a terrible business person and a liar. He told my husband that he had a lot of people quit because the jobs were "too far of a drive" but now we know that they quit because he was not paying them. Please avoid working for this company and hiring Keith Branham for any contarcting jobs. You will only lose your money and waste your time. If you don't have money to pay your employees, FIND A WAY! We are now behind on bills because he promised a check the second Friday that my husband started which was changed to Friday the 23rd which is now also not happening. My husband filled out a W2 when he started. How this guy is not behind bars is beyond me.
There are three other guys that work with my husband and none of them have been paid for their time either.
We will be contacting the IRS as well as the Texas Workforce.
