Lanepark Huber Heights Senior Living Community Reviews

  • May 14, 2014

At an average of 6,000 dollars a month per resident for the minimum of services, what residents locked into contracts receive is well short of what is advertised: no access to 24-hour dining as they simply close the kitchen area after sceduled meal hours despite the advertised meals/food available 24-hours (paying for this service); no activities; no dementia-focus therapy actually conducted; no shuttle or van service; mite-infested rooms; no choice in access to competent medical services on site; no barber or hair dressing facilities on site despite the promise of this from the time the facility opened; no monitored main phone system and an extra charge for phones in the room; insolent nursing staff; and overwhelmed short-staffed nursing aids who are supposed to be caring for the residents. As a result of this abysmal level of personal care performed by LanePark's least trained and certified staff members, the residents' family members need to do for their loved ones what they pay this facility to do. There is high service employee and administrative employee level turnover apparently, as new faces appear at times but overall it seems they are either having trouble hiring the right people or they will not spend the money to adequately staff this place; they have "skeleton crews" routinely and as a result residents wallow in their own filth, are not assisted as they are paying to be assisted, and they suffer mentally and physically as a result of this benign neglect. Just in the short time that this place has been open, they have had a number of well documented complaints registered on the website SeniorAdvisor.com. Their sole focus seems to be to lock residents into longer term contracts and then make empty promises about future amenities and services that are supposed to already be in place. They have been reported to the State of Ohio regulatory agencies and to the Montgomery County of Ohio Public Health Department with requests that these tax-payer funded stated agencies investigate a number of complaints alleged against this place. It seems that the bottom line for this place is the bottom line; this facility wants to make as much money as possible in exchange for as little service provided in return as possible while continuing to make what amounts to fraudulent promises regarding services as advertised to be in place right now.(This is textbook "ripoff") Avoid this place. Hopefully, state regulators and or lawsuits will prevent this facility and their investor parent company from continuing to do business as they have been. Listen to this feedback. if you choose to go there, remember you were warned not to for the above reasons.
