Laura is generally a good colorist, and I had been a client and friend for over two years. I often would bring in photos of what I wanted for my highlights, and she often delivered, until my last appointment with her.
i brought in several photos - models with brunette bases, blonde highlights, honey highlights, and had dimension and drama to them. She was working with some blonde highlights that were fading and growing out. I told her I wanted to be brunette, but I wanted my hair to look like the photos.
Instead of doing high lights and low lights as requested, she did low lights and an ash tint. You can still see a line from my old highlights. Instead of giving me the highlights and lowlights that I wanred, she just made me a brown, and left my fading highlights and grown out honey.
I I tried to live with it for a week. I went brunette for my boyfriend. He didn't like the work. I really didn't like the work. When I went in to talk to her about it - she was out of the country in costs rica - the week previous she was in Hawaii. When I did hear from her, she was defensive of her work, even after I had five other colorists I encountered during regular social events who said she didn't do what I asked, and that "it wouldn't fade to the picture" that I showed her. I told her i wanted to add. I was not happy with the work.
I received a text from her days later asking if I could reschedule. Here is where I depart - industry standard is if you have a color client unhappy, you fix them as soon as possible, working on a day off if you have to. Your clients are your walking billboard. Not Laura. Heaven forbid fixing her bad work interfere with her other protein bar business, Sweeareight, or her social life. I texted her later that evening telling her I was unhappy with her rescheduking. We are friends outside of our client relationship, and I told her that she takes advantage of my easy going ways. Laura would often ask to borrow my clothing and jewelry for events and to style her at the last minute. Laura only wants to be friends with people who can help her, and doesn't have any use for people she can't use to further whatever she is doing.
The next morning i recieve a text telling me that she waa sorry I felt that way and that her plans were important to her, and suggested finding a new hair stylist. I told her I would not keep my appointment with her that was rescheduled.
Don't bother going to Laura Sikora if you don't mind waiting an exhorbantant amount of time for an appintment, are ok with her work when she doesn't do what you want her to do, and you enjoy being used. Laura doesn't understand relationships - she only understands money. Take your business somewhwre else because she doesn't care about customer satisfaction.
And she did this to a "friend". Imagine what she will do to someone she doesn't care about.
