Les Schwab Tire Center Reviews

On May 16th I took my vehicle to Les Schwab to have my winter tires removed and my regular tires put on my vehicle. Since I have chrome rims it is necessary to buff and seal the rims to the tires. I was told this was done. I also gave them special tool in the glove compartment to remove my lug nuts on my rims.

Four days later I received a call and was told to rush to the hospital immediately as my Mom was in critical condition. After several hours at the hospital I needed to run to my house to get a copy of her living will/advance directive/power of attorney documents.

Unfortunately I could not do this due to a flat tire. I called Les Schwab and explained my emergency situation, told them they had just did the work four days ago and that I needed help. They had not given me back the tool for my lugs nuts so I could not even change the flat to the spare, I was stuck.

Their store was less than a mile from the hospital parking lot I was at. I was told "sorry, we can't help you"

My Mom passed a few days later. I will always remember the rotten service I received from Les Schwab in such a time of need. Everytime I see those "That's My Les Schwab Story" commercials I think of my own..... so that's my "Les Schwab Story".......

In June of 2014 we purchased 8 235/85R 16 trailer tires from Les Schwab Tire Center-Fife, Wa. (Shaub-Ellison Co. DBA Les Schwab Tire Center of Fife, Wa. We were "Upgraded and Up-sold" to the ToxMax brand trailer tire at 235/85R 16; 8 tires for $1298.00. Within approximately 2000 miles we had a catastrophic tread separation as we returned empty to Oregon to move. We took it as a road hazard replaced the tire in Texas and returned the blown casing to Les Schwab Madras Oregon for any credit.

In February 2015 we traveled to Texas from Oregon with some household items and an empty container. Approximate mileage on the tires was 6000 miles. With in 500 miles of our destination we began to experience additional tire failures for an end result of 3 tires catastrophically failing and one tire nearly hitting a Mercedes SUV upon the failure. Upon one tire failing the tire adjacent on the axle began to do the same and showed irregular tire wear and tread/sidewall blistering.

When we finally arrived home we found to have 6 tires of the purchased set un-serviceable and/or had completely failed.

Les Schwab has stood on "If we cant guarantee it we wont sell it" a no fault tire warranty and the Towmax Tire warranty. The remaining tire has 6/32 of the original 10/32 tread depth. Towmax warrants the tires up to 2/32. I have tried to resolve the issue which I believe are inferior and/or defective tires sold by Les Schwab. On Thursday March 5th, 2015 I asked by registered Email a mediated remedy and asked for an answer by Friday COB as we had been trying to resolve for over two weeks. They failed to respond with any resolution.

DO NOT BUY TowMax Tires by any dealer they are Chinese junk for the money. Consider another Reseller that has a real warranty like DISCOUNT TIRES. That have a tire replacement warranty - No Fault for just a few dollars more.

Les Schwab is rolling in his grave as his empire is now run for shear profit by a bunch of suits and customer service has fallen to unacceptable levels.

Les achwab buys ALL scrap tires from Liquidity Servicrs at fort Lewis wa and sells them.to consumers as "used" tires. Keep in mind I watch the transactions take place. When I questioned our "scrap" contract and wasn't that unsafe if the government declared all the tires scrap, I was told the government isn't aware that less schwab is doing that. I was told to keep quiet about it. Sorry, icant. Do not buy a used tire from them.

I had made contact with Chris, the manager at Les Schwab, at the Bowles Ave, Littleton, Colorado location about trading in the almost new wheels and tires that I had bought from Les Schwab tires, and when he first started speaking with me he quoted me a price, and we started talking about the wheels and tires that I wanted to replace them with. He was obviously trying to pull the bait and switch with me. Once he wasted 40 minutes of my time, he changed his mind, and said that he was not going to buy the wheels and tures, and that I would just need to pay cash for the new wheels and tires and just sell my 2700.00 wheels and tires on line... I was not happy with that response, and ended the call. My company decided a few days ago to open a new relationship with a wheel and tire company locally for our needs,a nd as the president, I decided to use the replacement of my wheels and tires as the first such purpose. So, like a dummy, I called and spoke with this manager Chris again.

He immediately recognized the wheels and tires, from our earlier conversation, and was rude, belligerent, and obnoxious, to the point where I lost my coool a couple of times. He simply quoted me a price that was significantly higher (by nearly 1000.00) than I had been quoted by another local shop. When I indicated that, he became even ruder, and tried to charachterize me as a problem client... That had already spent 2700.00, by the way. I was incensed by his attitude and suggested that he modify it. He told me to go &*^% myself, and that he would act in any way he wished.

I was going to call his corporate office, but couldn't even get through to them. I hope that this protects people from going inti this terrible shop. At the very least, get quotes from others, so that they do not rip you off.
