I took my 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe to Louisville Brake and Muffler in Sept 2014. My anti-braking system (ABS) and VDC OFF (traction) lights were flashing on in addition to strong rumbling and ringing noises coming from the engine. After about an hour of running diagnostics on the braking system, the mechanic told me I would need a new ABS motor pump. He said the part would cost $1,359 plus $80 for freight to have the infiniti part shipped to them plus about $250 in labor!

I called my dad and he told me to just take my car to the Infiniti dealership and have the same diagnostics run. So I went to the dealership two days later (the signal lights were still on but the rumbling and ringing noises had gone away). Long story short, the mechanic reset the relay/sensor for my ABS, drove my car around the block two times, and confirmed that the signal lights were now gone. He did state, however, that in running the diagnostics, the test did show the possibility of there being an issue with the ABS motor pump and that I could need a replacement if the problem persisted (I.e. if the signal lights coming back on and if I continued to hear the noises).

So I told him I would come back if I noticed any issues any more. I went ahead and asked how much it would costs IF I needed a new motor pump. He said about $160 for the part and $250 for labor. That's over $1,000 cheaper than what Louisville Brake and Motor quoted me for!

Louisville Brake and Muffler is a complete ripoff. Don't go!
