Madonna Heights is a Residential Facility that houses young teenage girls with behavioral issues. They claim to provide a structured therapeutic setting for adolescent girls between the ages of 12 and 17.
The direct care staff are under qualified to handle these children and their issues. I have witnessed first hand being a former employee, staff degrade these young girls, curse, yell, take away their given rights as human beings.
The young girls have had their daily allowances taken by staff and used for their own personal gain. Money deposited into their accounts and falsely doctored so that they can steal the money.
I have witness staff members physically and emotionally abuse these girls. Their unit housing apartments are filthy, windows not opening properly, basic utensils for eating and drinking are non existent.
The girls are force to use plastic bowls as cups, eating of used aluminum foil for plates. They are only given 2 regular outfits to wear a week and one school uniform which they are only allowed to wash once a week IF there is enough time.
Some girls are being threatened by other residents and being forced to engage in homosexual acts. The one On campus Psychiatrist barley speak English. They medicate these girls beyond normal dosages for their age group and are force to take benedryl at night to make them sleep even though it is an elective medication.
Phone calls are denied from residents family members even when residents are allowed to receive calls. They claim to have an adventure based counseling to build self esteem and learn to work together with other peers, meanwhile staff will call overweight children FAT, black children MONKEYS, and many other derogatory names. It is a horrible program and I have seen girls leave the program in worse condition than they came in.
Had they hired people qualified to work in a positive manner that would be beneficial, the program might work, but they hire anyone who has a HS diploma or GED and valid license.
Woman who have never had any experience dealing with children at all let alone high risk teens are in charge of these girls. They are destroying their lives. One teacher is refusing certain children the right to their education by not allowing them to attend class.
This is AGAINST the law. STEALING is against the law and ABUSING children both MENTALLY and PHYSCIALLY is against the law and this place needs to be CLOSED.
