Real estate scam artist

He may have good intentions but he has no idea what he's doing and he's ripping people off. I'm sure by now no one is doing business with him but if you're somehow talking to him about real estate (or anything for that matter) stop and move on. The above descriptions sounds very familiar and I've spoken to numerous people he's borrowed money from and disappeared. He rips off the most vulnerable, students and older people with money. I had dealings with him in Houston, but he travels all over the place on suckers' dime to find victims. Just look out and do your diligence on anyone you're looking to do business with and steer clear of this guy.

I met Mark Pantak through eHarmony. He seemed like a nice guy on the phone. I am a 58 year old RN from Iowa with a nice and trusting personality.

We met in 2010 when I was going through a difficult time at work, my brother became paralyzed, among other things. He was a smooth talker and said he was a huge real estate investor from Houston. He was on a radio show and traveled to many cities to do presentations on how to buy real estate without using your own money. Sounds great ? Right ??

I would fly to El Paso and we would go places. I would always pay for things. He would meet with clients. He never invited me to his place...because as I found out later , he had no permanent residence. His intention was to move in with me in Iowa, as I figured out. He started to move boxes of his real estate papers in to my garage. I thought he would get his own place in Des Moines, as that is what he told me. That never happened.

When he wanted to go somewhere, he would ask me to pay for his plane tickets, bus tickets, conferences, etc.. Always saying he would pay me back. He begged me for a $ 7500 loan for his business in 2011. He could not stay in a relationship with me if I did not give him the money. He would not take a cashier's check and I had to go back in to the bank and get cash. The check would take too long to go through !!! Omg !!!

From 2010 through 2012 he received over $ 20,000 from me. He gave me 3, $ 1000 checks during the first 3 month of 2014. He told me he would keep giving me a check each month. I have received nothing since March, 2014. He sent emails that he would pay me and knows that he needs to. Once I refused to give him any more money in March, 2013, things really cooled off between us. He left me 2 threatening voice mails in July, 2014. I had the cops call him.

He blames everyone else for his misfortunes. Of course he is the victim. He needs to "man up" , grow up, and do the right thing, and pay me back. He has not returned emails for the past few months. I am not the only person he has taken advantage of. He needs to be held accountable. He should be ashamed of himself. I do not want him to take advantage of anyone else. Do not give him money.
