Mark Shackelford, doing business as DFWAircraftparts, listed an airplane engine cowling on EBay for $600 or best offer. I offered $400 which he accepted. In talking to Mark, I found he had 2 other parts I needed. The total for the additional parts was $75. Shipping was $125. (that got the total to his original asking price of $600). He did not want to complete the transaction through EBay nor did he want payment through PayPal. Instead he gave me his account number at national bank and asked me to deposit the money. I did not. I agreed to pay through Paypal and pay the $21 fee that he was reluctant to pay. After I paid a total of $621, he shipped the engine cowling rather quickly. It was as advertised. However, he did not ship the other 2 parts. I tried several times to contact him, he made excuses for weeks, then he quit responding to my inquiries. He still has not sent me the parts I paid for. I contacted Paypal, they promised to help. They finally said that I should return the parts for a full refund. I had already had the engine cowling repainted and installed. I would have lost that time and money. Return shipping was to be $140, I would have lost that money, also, so returning it was not an option. I asked that he either refund the $75 or ship the parts. Neither Paypal or Mr. Shackelford will respond.I'm out the $75. It's possible that Mark has done business as or with Tx Air Salvage, DFWAirparts, and/or DFWAircraftparts. He has a few more complaints. Refunding $75 should not have been a big deal. He's ripped me off.
