Mary Thingelstad Reviews

Beware of Mary Thingelstad. She offered me the CN deal to my nine foster kittens which i found in a paper bag abandoned. all was ok at first but i found out later when close to adoption time that she had lied alot about how the cat network does things. it was my fault for having her as my only contact because now she had lied to the CN president saying i was difficult and wanted to keep them all and subsequently because of all the half truths she told, she stopped calling me back and none of the cats are eligable for this deal. i have three left and am handling it myself. i kept her emails where she lied and i will tell anyone who wasnt to hear what she did. i can only type 400 characters here but feel free to email me for the extended story ()(REDACTED))) let me be clear that this is not "the CN" fault but the fault of ONE person who works for the organization. its sad that her ego, half truths, and scatterbrained ways not only affected my situation but she probably hinders the cat network without them even knowing it. they do good work but could do more without someone mucking things up. Shame on you Mary. your ego and scatterbrained ways shouldnt have anything to do with saving kittens

I found 5 abandoned kittens and I called several rescues and adoption organizations and I was finally contacted by an individual by the name of Mary Agnes Thingelstad who agreed to foster them. We had a great conversation, she seemed extremely nice and she told me to contact her at the end of the week so I can bring them over, in the meantime another rescue organization contacted me and told me they have room to foster the 5, I thanked them but told them that Mary had agreed to accept them. I called Mary at the end of the week as she requested and she didn’t answer, I left a message but she didn’t call back. I called the following day and left another message but still no answer, I was growing desperate since I couldn’t keep the kittens much longer due to the fact that my child had developed severe allergies to them. I called the other rescue who called me earlier in the week, whom said they would accept them, but unfortunately now they were completely full. I kept calling her throughout that entire week but still no reply, my wife finally called from her phone and after the second ring Mary surprisingly answered, she spoke to her for a few moments however when she told her she was my wife and what its regarding she quickly rushed her off the phone and told her she would call us back. She never called us back. I kept on calling her and sending her texts and emails, but she wouldn’t reply. Finally I had to choose between my child or the kittens so I had no choice but to take them to Miami Dade Animal Control on NW 74th Street since they were the only ones who would accept them, we were told there was a high chance they would probably be euthanized, me and my wife dropped them there and left in tears.

I was extremely nice and respectful to Mary that day we spoke on the phone, and during the time I was trying to contact her I didn’t leave her any rude messages nor call her 10 times a day either. But the reason she was avoiding us, I guess was because, she just changed her mind and didn’t want to deal with it. It would have been much more polite on her behalf to answer the phone or to at least text me or email me, during those 2 weeks, to say she couldn’t do it anymore.
