I lost €1,00.00 for a minor scuff on the bumper. Car was rented from Bratislava airport. They have only one staff member who run the counter and parking lot too. When told why we have to pay more when the scuff is minor and takes no more than €100.00 to fix. I hope they will catch by government and other agencies for their fraudulent activities. NEVER NEVER NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THEM.
I have rented a car with Megadrive in Bratislava Airport, Slovakia from 23 May 2014 to 26 May 2014through the website arguscarhire.com on 25 April 2014.
Upon booking it was indicated that I would need to pay EUR 46.53 at the counter. The excess quoted on the online voucher was EUR 450. The employee at the airport was P**** K****.
When I arrived at the desk, I was told that I had been upgraded to a more powerful car and that the car had scratches all around. It was dark when I picked up the car and all scratches were difficult to spot.
When I returned the car on 26 May 2014, the rental car company charged me an additional EUR 31.25 + EUR 6.25 tax for “handling fee”. It was not mentioned to me what this fee covered.
I have also been charged the full excess of EUR 540 for 3 minor scratches that were on the car prior to me renting the car. Mr K**** confirmed in an email dated 27 May 2014 that the “the car won’t be repaired, because our service is not in Slovakia and the car is drivable. Car will be repair before the sale in Germany.”
The exact same situation happened to another customer M**** D**** who returned the car at the same time than me.
It appears that there are a lot of similar complaints about the company Megadrive.

It appears that the company is systematically overcharging the customers the whole excess.
