Minwax Reviver for hardwood floors has destroyed my showcase entrance way and livingroom. I take great pride in my floors because I had stripped them and refinished them by hand. My floors were in perfect condition. I have only used Minwax products starting with the original polyurathane.
Every so many months I get down on my hands and knees and use their hardwood floor cleaner. Then I follow up using their Reviver. I follow the directions to a T and have never had a problem with them. This time after applying the original liquid to my floors in an "S" pattern and then pulling it with the boards all of the "S" patterns remained after they dried. My floors are now covered with hundreds of shiny "S" patterns where I originally applied the Reviver. They are mortifying and everywhere.
I called the company and was told that they would replace the bottle or give me a double refund.
I explained that if I reapplied their product which is similar to a polyurathane that the "S" marks would then be further trapped under a coat and be even harder to correct.
I am trying to get this up to a higher level and expect them to stand behind their product. Their product failed, Period. Something is off in the mixture and as a result my showcase room and entrance are destroyed. I can't even look at them and not be sickened knowing that I put so much work into them and took extremely good care of them often upsetting guests by asking them to take their shoes off before coming in. And now I am offered another bottle or the cost of a bottle. I will never use their products again and can not believe that they think that I would accept it.
I have no idea why this happened but I am certain that it was not because of me. I am disgusted that they would offer me more of what I called them up to tell them ruined my floors. They have an office near my house because we are in the same state and I suggested that they send a tech to look at my floors and they said no. I am not going to let off until they stand behind there product and fix what it has done. It is just not right to offer someone $30 for roughly $1000 dollars in damages to have the floors resanded.
