This guy.. my car had what looked like a misfire issue, but still drivable. When I got the car to Pat - Mobile Mechanic Extraodinaire (someone gave me his number), he said it will be a small matter. The car was with him for 2 days, all the while he changes he assessment of what is wrong with it and goes back and forth. When he called me to come in, the car wasn't going more than 5 mph and he said it was the fuel pump and crankshaft position sensor.
I didn't trust him at all this point because he was so flakey on me. He did ask to charge me a 100$ for the diagnostic and said it was a 100% certainty that those parts need to be replaced.
I got the car to another (this time reputable) mechanic shop. They replaced the intake manifold (!) and the car drives perfect.
I called Pat to refund me my money and he refused and was rude about it too. Do not use him. He may look cheap in the short term, but longer term you'd very sorry you did.
