Moynahan's Towing Reviews

  • Sep 15, 2014

My wife and I were involved in a severe automobile accident 9/10/2014 resulting in a total loss of our VW Routan minivan. Moynahan's was the company used to tow our vehicle and hold it until we cleaned out and released the van to our insurance company for conformation of total loss. The van sat in their yard about for two nights. Upon arrival (the morning of 9/12/2014) the receptionist Ms. Cheri was very nice courteous and helpful, I wish I could say that about any one else there. Initial look at our van I noticed a lot of debris from the highway that belong to the other vehicle involved. No big deal to me, so I thought I would just ask one of the guys there to borrow a pair of work gloves to remove the sharp metal and plastic from our van so as to get our things out. Guy I asked said no problem and proceeded to hand me a pair of disposable rubber surgical gloves. I immediately paused and said "seriously, you guys removed all that stuff from roads with these gloves. There is sharp metal in the van can you help me out please." His response "That what we use, we just use a shovel and those." BULL$#!*!! I handed him back his gloves and grabbed and old towel I kept in my other car.

Ms. Cheri showed up in the yard for whatever reason but I took that opportunity to ask her if she could get me a pair of work gloves and when I explained what one of the other guys handed even she was a bit taken back. Any way cleaning out the car we began to notice a lot of things that we assumed didn't make it through the crash actually did. Things that we purchased that day, bags were in tact, all receipts were there, hell all of my daughters legos were there. What we started to notice was my brand new sunglasses case and my wife's versace sunglasses were missing. Her glasses we had prior to that day were in our center console with our daughter's dvds. My sunglasses case was in the bag the the store gave me but I was wearing them. At first we really didn't want to point fingers and we had a ton of things to do that day so we, for the most part blew it off and left.

Later that day after we were able to get into everything we brought home we began to notice more things missing. We also reviewed pictures that we took at the scene of the accident before anyone touched the van and as soon as we got to Moynahan's yard. We noticed our stroller had obvious been moved around, which underneath it had our daughter's still in the box scooter toy, I also notice that out of the 6 movies we had stored in that same center console only the non-blu ray movies so happened to stay in place. Now once I learned and confirmed this with my wife that things were truly missing not misplaced I drove down to Moynahan's yard to speak with a supervisor. Now I'm still open to look at surveillance video to if anyone jumped their fence or what. However I was immediately greeted with NO cooperation and aggressively rude response from an old man with white hair. I have no idea his name or position with the company (could've been owner for all I know) but after being called a son-of-a-B*&^% and a piece of $#@! I was done and like a fool returned an f-bomb and called him a thief and promptly walked out. The items taken weren't relatively that expensive but taken none the less.
