National Flood Insurance Program Reviews

  • Jul 4, 2014

I applied for flood insurance In Feb. 2014 at my state farm agent because I was worried about possible groundwater/sewer backup in my basement this automaticly goes to the national flood insurance program --the computer program showed that for $ 269.00 per year I would get $ 50,000 building / $ 20,000 contents.. they kept asking for more info and more info and more info from my agent and claiming I wasnt in a flood zone.... by April 2014 they (NFIP) decided on their own to change the coverage to $ 11,800 building / $ 4,700 contents this might not be that bad except when I got the policy and the book of whats covered and whats not I took it to my agent and we looked over it and found that groundwater/sewer backup is not ever covered unless a flood is declaired----but im not in a flood area--- so the policy is worthless I told my agent to tell NFIP cancel this policy its no good and get my money back----- WELL --the National Flood Insurance Program refuses to cancel the usless policy and refund my money---how about that ? so far I cant get anyone at FEMA to even tell me who governs over these people---the people at the NFIP think the whole thing is funny and claim "thats just the way it is" SO I have a useless policy for a year and they keep my money too !!!!

huh

Find someone else that knows how to quote flood. And why should you be entitled to a refund? Typical American these days, entitled to everything. Whine whine whine - always someone else to blame.
