Nevada Health Link Reviews

  • Mar 25, 2015

I enrolled for Obamacare in December 2013 for the 2014 year. My payment of 1400$ was processed and paid in full as of Janurary 4th of 2014. I later received a call in February that my application had still not been accepted. I was read ~30 minutes worth of terms of agreements that I signed over the phone for. I was told the application was complete and that my ID cards would be mailed within a few weeks. It never arrived.

In September 2014, I needed to get medical attention. I called Nevada Health Link to retrieve my insurance policy number. This is when I was informed that my policy had been cancelled at some point earlier in the year due to an application error. I was furious as to why they never contacted me to tell me, but held my payment. They said a refund check would be issued and would take 6 business weeks to clear. It never came either.

I called back to let them know it never came, and that I had changed addresses. I live outside the country, which makes it more difficult and they would not let me know by email notification when the check was to be remailed. I was then told Jan 1, it was remailed. It never came to the new address.

I called ~20 times total since september and today, March 24th, 2015. On ~March 8th I asked if a direct deposit could be issued. They emailed back and granting confirmation and took my banking information on the 13th. I was told it would be processed in 3-5 business days. Well, today is the 24th, 11 days after that, and I still have not received it. I called back 7 times, everyday to ask the confirmation and I was given different answers by different represenatives. One said the finance manager was out of town.

I finally spoke to Marsha Hodge the supervisor today, the same woman I first spoke with in September, and she had little time for me. She told me that the direct deposit option was never guaranteed to me, and that the 3-5 business day timeline was never told to me either. She also told me the supervisor was not on vacation and that I made that up too. She finally stated that the finance department still hasnt replied back to them since the 13th.

I researched online and it seems that this is not the only incident of this company continually accepting premiums without guaranteeing insurance policies(see link below). Its going to be another hassle when the obamacare penalty is issued to me when I legally and lawfully applied and paid for my insurance. I hope nobody else gets scammed by this s**t company run by ignorant, arrogant imbeciles.
