I was shocked to walk out of my home to get into my car. It was gone!!! My limited edition Pontiac GXP was stolen! It couldn't be towed! I live here! There are absolutely no towing signs, no reason to tow, nothing... It must have been stolen!
I first called the police, I gave them my address. They searched and told me it wasn't on the tow list and they are going to file it as a stolen vehicle. As I gave them my license plate they put me on hold. They came back and said, "Your pontiac was towed from [address removed] by Northwest Recovery."
I was so mad that my car was not only ILLEGALLY towed from my home, but they lied and said I was at another address... an address that wasn't even on my side of the town. I bet they have towing signs there. It's very illegal to fill out the tow form incorrectly, but to lie about the address it was obtained from??? I bet there's something wrong with that too.So I pay the b******* $175, plus $40 for every day you can't come. Since I found out at night, they charged me for not coming in. Here's $215 for stealing my car. How backwards is that?!
If that wasn't enough, there was a magnet key holder under the car. It wasn't there anymore. I have no key, a $200 job, and no gas key... now I need a gas cap.
OH and they can't tow it back to your home since I don't have a key. They can't tow it back where they stole it from, but they will tow it anywhere else... FOR $90 just to hook it up and $4.50 per mile. No. I paid enough.
While I waited for the tow company, a reputible one, from the dealership... something in my stomach told me something was wrong and I should go check my car.
The place is a wreck. It looks like it's broken down, rinkey dink. There are screws and bolts and cigarette butts everywhere on the assphalt.
The pole/fence part it OBVIOUSLY STOPPED ON FROM REAR ENDING left a lovely little dent in my bumper. My passenger mirror is hanging off and it looks like someone tried to glue it with maple syrup. And... what's that? MY WINDSHIELD IS SHATTERED!? HOW THE HECK DID YOU SHATTER MY WINDSHIELD?!
I near fainted seeing the condition of my mint, limited edition, no longer in production, undercover race car. I love that car. It's my pride and joy. It's the one thing that is just mine. It's paid off, bought in cash, all mine. Now it's destroyed. It's not even a nice car anymore. HOW CAN YOU TREAT A NICE let alone any CAR THIS WAY?!?!?!
So the tow company (good guys) tow me to the dealership. I look at my car. I see a familiar screw in my tire! I can't afford to fix this too! I just paid $215 for towing, $100 for another towing from there, $150 for a key, $45 for removing my locking gas cap and putting a new one on... I can't even afford to fix my mirror and windshield yet. I STILL HAVE TO EAT THIS WEEK!!!
Damnit. Maybe it will be okay until next week when I get paid again. I get in my car and go to adjust my seat and heads up display, my FAVORITE FEATURE. The mirror on this inside fell. I asked the technician. He says, "I bet when they let the car off it just rolled into a poll and knocked your mirror out of place. At least I can drive. NOPE! My tire explodes not even a mile up the road. This is the storage I paid $40 for? Now I also paid to get a new tire!!! So now my friend came to tow me because I'd probably faint if I saw another tow truck. As I'm trying waiting for him to arrive, I figure I'd listen to some music. Again I was smacked in the face with a weird muffled sound. My friend says that it was bumped out of place when it was or jacked up and should be easy and cheap to fix. I pray so...
I contacted ICC but they never return anyone's calls. When I get a live person she always accuses me of talking over her when I'm not speaking. I have no idea what her deal is. She said they will send me their insurance information. Pfft... still waiting.

I assume the driver drove all the way to another address, found his tow sign, and then wrote that address that I've never been to or heard of. So he ILLEGALLY towed my car.
Illegal tow, letting my car rear end a pole to stop, storing it on nails for 24 hours - $215
Towing from a towing company that knows what they are doing - $100
Replacement key lost from wheel well - $150
Replacement gas cap since mine locked and the key, magnet holder and all were gone - $45
Replacing my windsheild - $550 from Safe Auto
Fixing heads up display at dealer because no one else can - $220
Fixing the dent in my rear end - $55
Replacing passanger mirror (NEEDS ENTIRE REPLACEMENT as it attaches to door panel) - $335
Replace my tire so I can actually DRIVE the car they STOLE ILLEGALLY again - $100 (If I'm lucky)
Stereo replaced by a cheaper one (mine was a bose) at walmart - $100 (if friend installs it)
In total, them stealing, I mean illegally towing my car cost me $1,870. Not to mention that since I had to pay tows and gas cap and all that, and being disabled I'm on little to no money at all and still have to eat, I no longer have a car to drive to doctors appointments or to drive my son to where he has to go. My life has been put on hold because this company has no idea what they are doing!!!
This is highly unfair! This was my GXP! My pride and joy with a v8 and sunroof! This was my car! I'm devastated and literally broke from this. How could you do this to people? I have a child. I have doctors appointments for my disability. Now I have no transportation. What do they expect us to do?
I called for a manager roughly 5 times, morning, noon and night. Apparently there is never a manager or boss or owner on duty. No wonder things are in shambles and people are destroying cars! I left three messages for the "owner" and expressed my concerns, in a very appropriate and calm way, three times. Okay, maybe the last time I was a little pissed, but I know you get more flies with honey and I was still kinder than I really should be to these people.
