We hired Nu-Again of St. Charles IL to paint our deck in the summer of 2014. Despite promises to the contrary they:
• Failed to pound in nails
• Left trash in our yard
• Were rude to my daughters
In March 2015 we saw that much of the deck stain had worn off. I called and was told someone would be out to review the situation. 6 weeks and several phone calls later the owner, Nate, came out. Nate acknowledged the worn stain and the nails and said they a crew would be out in a few weeks to take care of it. This would, Nate said, include power washing and restaining. I showed Nate that we had painted the rail tops and benches ourselves since they were last there and that these areas should not be touched. I was further told, by Nate and Catherine (who worked very hard on our behalf) in many phone calls, that I would be called 24 hours in advance of the crew’s arrival.
After many calls and emails a crew came out in early June. I tried calling to remind them about the areas not to be power washed but could not get any response. So, I taped an 8.5 x 11 note to the bench detailing this instruction. When I returned home my note, still taped to the bench, was ripped in half and they had power washed the deck and the areas that we had restained. I called Catherine and she said Nate was surprised and that they would repaint those areas as well. I was told they should be out in about a week and that they would call 24 hours in advance.
Again, several weeks later and without any notice they came and restained the deck but not the bench and railtops that they had ruined against many instructions. They gave us no notice and so, when we arrived home around 11 that night we let the dog out. Our dog’s paws were covered in deck stain and she got footprints all over the benches.
The next morning we could see that they had missed several areas of the deck. They had also gotten paint on our pool wall and our pool pump.
Again I called and was told they would come out and take care of those areas.
Again they came out without notice and again they did not fix the benches and railtops and this time they got paint on my grill cover.
I called and sent an email containing pictures etc. asking only for a can of white so we could finish their job. We also restained the benches and railtops ourselves. I got a response saying they would come out with a can of the stain, of course with advance notice. It has now been two weeks and nothing.
At this point we never want to see these folks again and only hope that by sharing this experience I can save someone else the trouble we have had with this horrible company.
