I proved what a complete scam it is

I've had a N1M account for about three years and only ever used it to post links to the three songs I had on there. At first I believed the messages from so-called fans who gushed about my songs and asked to buy them on NM1 only.

It didn't take long to work out that it is just a low down dirty scam and that none of these so-called fans actually exist.

How do I know that you may ask ?

Well even though they all declared their undying support for my music and eagerness to buy my latest album, not a single one of them was interested in downloading it from Bandcamp or iTunes. They only wanted to download it from N1M.

Guess why ?

It's because I would have to pay N1M to upgrade from a free account to one that allows me to sell my music. It is the fraudsters that run N1M who have been sending these messages, posing as fans.

I finally managed to expose this scam after I decided to copy some of these messages to my official artist website, and lo and behold, I was contacted by several other N1M artists who had received exactly the same messages from the fraudsters. They weren't similar messages either, they were identical (word for word).

I can't believe that nothing has not been done to stop them cruelly misleading innocent independent artists in this way.

N1M IS a scam

I got the same thing. These assclowns prey on musicians, who have to submit to the internet age, and give false hope. We realized that since we just submitted a new song, and older ones already existed, it reached number one the very next day. What? With no promotion? Hmmmmm.....So, I INDIVIDUALLY sent out messages to people in our "mailing list manager" to friend me on Facebook and I'll explain why. Never got even ONE request. Emailed N1M in the "contact us" box in a friendly fashion questioning the disparaging rumors of being a scam, (I didn't even use that word) and.....BOOM! We were deleted from the site!! Stay away fellow musicians! NUMBER ONE MUSIC IS A SCAM!!!!! Thanks for reading....Ace Tyler drum kit - Sevendeadly

N1M

I joined this site a few years ago after a message from a Mr Dennis Montero from a band called nexxt, telling me how great the site is and how it has helped him become quite successful in his genre of music.

I joined and after a few days was inundated with emails from people that have joined my mailing list saying things like your music gets me through the day etc, which I was flattered and suprised by as I have had little success on both ReverbNation and myspace, I was tempted to invest in a package, but my band broke up and I left it.

A year on and I got some emails from N1M asking me to send a newsletter to my mailing members, spurred on by these emails I did as asked but changing the page name to my own and uploading new content, straight away there were a barrage of replies again gushing how talented I was and that they wanted to buy my music but could not find me on cdbaby or google play both sites that I have tracks for sale, I decided to email my mailing list members with the personal email accounts that were provided, all were instantly replied with an email failure notice.

I then contacted N1M to ask why all email accounts of my mailing list were failures and said this smacks of a scam to solicit funds from myself.

Within five minutes of me sending that message my account was cancelled with no explanation or notice which just confirmed that these people are indeed only crooks and are preying on the aspirations and dreams of musicians.

Avoid like the plague complete piece of shit of a site.

Of course N1M is a rip off

Of course N1M is a scam. Do you know anyone who listens to music on that site? Of course not, because no one does. I never bought any of their services/packages/whatever, but I must have submitted a song to them once (probably a free trial deal or something) because they have one of my tunes on their site. That was in like 2015 and every month I still get "messages" from "fans" with general platitudes like "love your music", "you're great, etc". Clue #1 for all you artists out there: if someone "Loves your music" they'll mention some specific things about what they like about it, and probably even mention the title of the song that they like (which is something the "fans" on N1M never do). I have to say I do find the messages amusing at this point though. They are almost always attractive young girls who would never be interested at all in the Dad Rock that I play. :)

The website N1M (number one music) is a scam site.

They give the artist the impression all these other people from around the world are subscribing to your artist page and yest when you attempt to contact all 270 plus so called subscribers I had....almost all of them bounced back or I recived no response.

Especially when some of the so called fans were saying amazing things about my music...they couldn't wait to buy the album blah blah blah.

Where N1M blew their scam is when on the same day I up load 2 songs one goes straight to number 6 and sits there for a week in the charts...but the other (just as good) is at 358 supposidly.... So I write to N1M ask them to explain how this could happen one song is on the top for almost 2 weeks and the other is way off... so what did N1M respond and do...

All of a sudden the one song that was way out in left field is now number 3 and the other song that was number 6 is now back at 178....both songs only being on the charts after 2 weeks? WHAT A CROCK OF S***.

I have a background in the music industry for years and I smelled a rat right off the bat....so when I wrote to support fist they tell you....we calculate the charts each week...if you change a genre it can affect the standing on top of number of plays you are getting. Well 2 songs were put up the same day...nothing changed and one song had sat their for years I just forgot about...it was a notice fromo N1M that the original song was now up near the top of the charts and I should check it out.

The site looks great and has wonderful functionality but they are lieing to my fellow artists big time! Therer are doing this to get you to take one of their packages either gold or diamond which is nothing more than a scam. The charts you just ahve to listen to ...in order to see there is no way the majority of songs in the top 10 would EVER make it there becuase it is complete garbage.

I was almost going to sign up until I checked around...and sure enough lots of artists are sounding the alarm bells that this site is one big scam to just get artist money and they are absolutely right!

From all the records I had they were manipulating my page to make me feel great....but once I contacted them to explain they canceleld my account no word or warning and Have not responded to questions.

I am reporting them to the Canadian authoritites because this is just so wrong to do this to artist playing on their dreams when all the s**t they send you of all these people from around the world listening and loving your music....it's all comeplete BS!

So hopefully this report will help a few artists BEFORE they fork over cash to this pathetic website becuase what they are doing is so discpicable as if artists need more BS to deal with then they all do just to get their craft recognized or to have a career.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE TELL ALL ARTIST THEY ARE PLAYING YOU LIKE FOOLS BASED ON YOUR EMOTIONS.

I still use them for free.

I have found a few Real people using n1m, but I won't spend money to pay a roomfull of kids with no work ethics, to send fake emails to real musicians. I've talked to and met a few that tell me how many fans they have and how well they're doing so they buy the Subscription. However if N1M was real I'd be living in mansion from all the Royalties I would earn.

I don't agree with everyones hate!

I've been using the site for a few years now! I have 'not' paid a dime and yes can only put three songs and my limitations are there but this is not a scam! What do you expect to get for 116 dollars,, to be Justin Beiber... come back to reality!!! This is the music business and it's not easy,, ANYWHERE or with ANY SITE or to gain ANY FANS! This is a hard career... stop hating just because it doesn't go your way!

You're probably a scammer that works at N1M

If I could give N1M ZERO stars or better yet -5 stars (that's a negative), I would. I will do everything in my power to get that site taken down.

You're probably a scammer that works at N1M, of course you'll say something positive.

N1M is a definite SCAM 100%

I wish I figured it out sooner, but now it's obvious when you think about it and analyze the fake fan messages and play counts and rank and everything else about the site.

All statistics ( plays ,subscribers etc) are completely fictitious and designed to persuade you to pay for their premium service

Complete bunk...…….but like many I got took in and paid for Diamond membership $199 + tax. Now realise that all messages of support, plays, subscription etc are just generated from some form of algorithm designed to make it look like you're doing great.

Don't touch it with a shi.tty bargepole

numberonemusic.com is 100% scam

Starting like this,They contacted me in myspace site. A guy pretended to be my fan(bait) says, you are talented. my friend is doing great in N1M. then sent me a link to that site. I signed up for a free trail.

After that, the same thing happened like everyone said.

How I comfirmed this is a scam.

The system was getting suspecious. I checked the email address of the subscribers. They all like ([email protected]). I searched in FBsite about the someone(named M.Q) who sent me an email to my N1M account.

M.Q even has a fake FB account. Then, you know what I found in FB search?

M.Q sends hundreds of the email (which are the same content except the names and names of the songs are different) to hundreds fo the musicians. I tried another one (N.W) the result came out the same.

It was shocking.

I have signed up for Gold menber. So stupid. but now I am done. I wasted the money。

I wish I knew That was a con.

They will be punished Sooner or later.

N1M IS a scam

Yep....I got he same thing...the phony responses, songs hitting number one miraculously...so I did a little investigating...I asked everyone INDIVIDUALLY on my "mailing list manager" to please friend me on Facebook and I would explain why....Lo and behold, no one responded. So! I sent an email to the "contact us" portion at the bottom of the page. It was a friendly email stating that I wished to dispel rumors of this being a "prey" site. Next thing I know...not to mention they got 200 of our dollars....we were COMPLETELY deleted from the site. We were just too stupid at the time and gave them money quite some time back. We've been musicians all our life. We definitely don't suck....lol Stay away people...N1M is nothing but a scam......Thanks for reading Ace Tyler drums - Sevendeadly

I smell the dirty Mississippi

they've been trying to get me to pay for a membership for about 5+ years. I found another site that was a whole lot cheaper...$19.95 a year and they put your material on mostly all the major outlets. I informed my "fans", funny how I had 499 subscribers and number #1 Christian artist in Memphis!!!!!! of all places. When I sent out a notice to those "subscribers" I got a message back from a few as to why I don't sell them on N1M, or get a buy link. I posted the iTunes link and it mysteriously didn't post

As a musician with a new release on iTunes, I was eager to sign up for a one year subsciption on the N1M (Number One Music) web site for $119.95. I wish I had done my homework before I signed up. The site is a 100% scam, apparently run by some Russian guys out of an office somewhere in New York. If you google "N1M scam" you'll start to see what I'm talking about. I became very suspicious at the thousands of plays I was getting, and the ever growing number of fans. When I started to email them individually...all the email addresses bounced.

The play stats, & fan subscribers they feed you are all totally fake. When I asked for a refund after the first few weeks of this sham, my page and account were deleted without notice, and surprise suprise... no refund! Steer well clear ladies and gentlmen. Ohh and if you are already a member.. try and validate your stats...Good luck.

Numberonemusic is SCAM

Someone contacted me in Myspace. He said his friend is doing great in N1M. and sent me a link to that site.

So I joined them for a free trail.

After that, The same weird things happened like everyone said.

How I comfirmed this site is a scam is the emailing list system started getting suspesious.

The most of the mail addresses are [email protected]. and I returned the mail, no response never.

One of them (Named M.Q) sent me a mail about the compliment of my song. I searched her name on FB site. What I found is she sends hundreds of mail which are an exact content except name to haunreds of the musicians.

I tried another one(named A.W). The result came out the same.

They even have a fake FB account. If you see, you can tell.

Needles to say. There so many other things don't make sense.

I have signed up for golden member. I wasted the money and time, Spacially, effort on them.

Numberonemusic is a SCAM.

All responses are true

I stay on there to humor myself but all the 1 star ratings are true. Thankfully I realized this well before I was going to pay out for a subscription. Sad thing is almost all of not all indie artists starting out will fall for one of these sites or marketing tools. Some of them are so elaborate you can’t help your self. It’s one of THE biggest problems in the music industry. Snake oil for musicians. Some humans are just evil.

RIP OFF

I had difficulty using their e-mail , it was like trying to open a safe with no combination. Also I bought $49.00 of blincoin and never received it and never returned my 2 e-mails. I suggest not to join this site.
