Office Depot Reviews

I purchased a new HP laptop on May 20, 2015 and it started crashing only a couple weeks after I purchased it. I have been using computers since the 70's so I know about them and know how to use them. I have owned a number of pcs of different brands.

The laptop was recommended to me as one that would be good for viewing videos - It has an AMD processer rather than the Intel processer I usually get. This is the laptop that the store manager has and was recommended.

I called Office Depot and they adamantly refused to refund my money or exchange the lemon laptop since it had been longer than 14 days since I purchased it. They told me I had to take the issue up with HP.

I have spent literally hours and days on the phone with HP and different tech support people who have been unable to repair the pc. It has been crashing with blue screens for weeks now, interrupting my work and making it difficult to get anything done.I also could not install the Windows updates but that appears to have been fixed - at least for now.

HP told me to send it back to them and they would repair. I did and rented a laptop (even though I had just purchased a brand new one) and they returned it to me with more issues. In addition to still crashing, it is in test mode and required more than 143 Windows updates.

Now, just over a month with this new laptop I still have a brand new pc that is crashing for no known reason.

I purchased a new Cannon all-in-one laser printer/fax/copier from their store. They sold me an extended "performance" agreeement at that time.

Sadyly the machine failed and I found out they don't repair or service the machine the warranty is a 3rd party serviced our of the country. I had previously registered the machine and used my Office Depot customer card at the time of purchase. They have the information and have verified that.

After a lot of back and forth including the mailing of the machines cartridge to them they said I would receive a store card with a credit for my purchase (instead of a repair).

3 months passed and they kept saying the same thing WAIT! Now they want to start over with the original recept required and that recept was printed on thermo paper that faded after a few months.

This saga started in December 2014! Still no card or printer.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! At the very least tell them to keep their 3rd party service policy as it is worthless!

I've read all the rip off reports, the apologists and others who think $1.75 is not too much to pay for one page of fax transmission. These companies are ripping us off. The Office Depot in Peachtree did not warn me of the exorbitant cost, lied about the fact that an 888 number was long distance and generall laughed when I complained. Good for them. I vote with my feet. I hereby swear that I will never make another purchse in Office Depot...so I win this. They lose ovrt $1000 per year. I encourage other to do this and then we'll get fax services that are logical, say 50 cents per page.

The salesperson convinced me to purchase this 2 year premium worry free accidental damage free replacement plan for $150 . My laptop was damaged during our move by sliding off my trailer while parked in my drive and hitting the concrete.

I called in my claim and told them what happened and I added that I may have back over it afterwards but it's hard to be sure but it absolutely fell first, the rep sated it was not covered.
