The sales person offered to upgrade my camera and showed me one with 60xzoom he used a fake website to show me highly inflated prices and offered me a discount. I agreed to the price. When I gave him my credit card he passed it to his assistant behind the counter who hid it behind a screen and somehow scamed it.He produced a transaction slip at a higher price than aggreed to.When I complained he offered me a tellephoto lens of 2.2x and said it would make the camera a 120x zoom.He showed me the box with 2.2x zoom written on it and a price of $1190 written on it and attached the lens to the camera. He said I could have it for $750. His assistant swiped my card again but it was declined due to bank security. He asked me if I had another card. I showed him my other card for identification but he passed it to his assistant.I told him dont scan that card but he ignored me and kept swipping it. It declined payment. He asked me to go to a money machine and get cash, I refused as I was suspisious at this stage. We were leaving the store and my wife said she would use her credit card.I said No I,m not going to use it.But he took it and his assistant swiped it and charged her $750.We left the store. The next day I tryed the camera and lens. The camera did not function on micro correctly and it would not focus with the telephoto lens.As the instuctions were not in english I was told the included compact disk would give me instructions in english. While at the airport returning home I recieved a text from my bank about suspisious activity on my credit card. After contacting my bank I was informed that further attempts on all three credit cards by on line camera gallery were attempted.I searched on the internet for details about the camera and disscovered the telephoto lens had been swapped at the point of sale for a $29 Wide angle lens. The telephoto lens on ebay $25 the camera $349.95.If you feel the need to be ripped off visit on line camera gallery, ink 293 Jefferson street San Francisco for an experiance you will never forget.

I was totally taken in by these guys and let my usually cautions guard down. I went in to this store looking for a wide angle lens.

Carlos the salesman told me that he had something much better – the latest wide angle lens with a built in macro lens.

Quoting a normal price of $1199 which he showed me the manufacturers website at

http://axprousa.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=74&product_id=65

I explained I was only looking to pay around$200 , hoping that I had convinced him with my bartering tactics, very quickly he dropped the price to $600, and then he asked how much cash I had as the store was closing in 15 minutes and he might be able to do me a deal, like an idiot I told him $300, and guess what that’s the final price he agreed.

You know what’s coming next I got back to my hotel and checked the product name and discretion on ebay and , what I had actually purchased was not a wide angle lens but a converter that fits on to the existing lens, the highest price I could find for similar products was $45

I went back the next day and relayed my finds to Carlos unfortunately I could not get a 3G signal in the store, and he conveniently did not have any internet access, although the day before he was able to show me the manufactures website on his phone, he insisted it was a wide angle lens and not a converter, I knew I was not going to get anywhere with him, but feld much better although a few dollars lighter for letting carlos know we was operating a scam

Lesson

No matter what the bargain maybe always do your research online, even if it means leaving the store, if it is a bargain you’ll be back if not you wont need to go back
