Perry Vidrine Refrigeration Co Reviews

  • Jul 21, 2014

I had called Perry Vidrine Refrigeration to my home in July,2013 to resolve a problem with my cooling unit. This is a father & son Company and they travel and work together.

They began troubleshooting the inside unit and replaced a $20.00 relay. As they were replacing the relay, I step outside for a few minutes and then went back inside. As I entered the back door, I saw Brian stooping over the theremostat control on the wall with the cover of the thermostat in his hand . His head was within a foot of the control and his free hand at the control when he heard me enter the room. He glanced up at me with a surprised look and quickly put the cover back on the thermostat. His father had his back to me looking at his son. I was puzzled by Brians' awkardness.

Brian then returned to the A/C unit to finish putting on the new relay which is just around the corner from the thermostat. He then informed me that I need to have the blower motor replaced also. He said he did not have one but could have one Monday( this was on a Friday). He said that he would call Monday to confirm but never called. Tuesday I went to a dealer to purchase a blower motor myself. By Noon I had it installed and running. every thing was good. Late Tuesday afternoon Brian called and said he would be late. I told him that the unit has been repaired and to come by so than I could pay him for his work. He said that he would send me a bill in the mail.

A few days went by and for some reason I was compelled to check out the furnace side of the unit. I turned the thermostat to heat & auto. I could hear the heating elements turn on and the smell of burning lint but the blower motor would not turn on. I took the cover off of the thermostat control .

I then noticed that the jumper wire for the Electric Furnace had been placed on the Gas Furnace. I switched the jumper wire back to the Electric Furnace and the unit worked perfectly.

Brian Vidrine is the only person who could have moved this jumper wire. He knew that the blower motor would not work when turned to Heat. There could have been a fire of the worst kind. How many others has he done this to?

He sent his bill for $177.25 ( 2 hours for changing out the $20.00 relay which took 20 minutes)

I feel very strongly that there is a danger here.
