Online phishing scam from Job Advertisement website (ProJobNetwork)

I am a Professor at a State University of New York and frequently post job advertisements to hire new staff. In February 2015 I received following email:

Hi there,

Are you still hiring?

If so, you can post to 40+ job boards at no charge this week only. These sites combined reach over 60 million job seekers each month.

And many of our customers start receiving more qualified candidates the same day.

I want you to see how well it can work for you, so please give it a try, on us, using the link below...

P.S. Post to 40+ job boards at no charge this week only. Try it out, on us, using the link above.

I clicked on above-mentioned link which brought me to a window from the projobnetworks website that indicated I could post my job ad for free. To complete the posting the website asked me to create a profile which included details such as my credit card#. There was no mention of any charges for the posting. However, a subsequent email I received unexpectedly mentioned charges for posting of a job advertisement after a 7-day free trail. I immediately contacted the company by email to cancel this job posting, but they never responded. I finally cancelled my account completely, but found that despite my efforts to cancel they have charged my credit card account $99.

Only after the supposed trial period has passed the company responded finally , and later claimed that a number of applicants has viewed the job advertisement and I have been charged rightfully. They also erroneously claimed that I agreed to their ‘terms and conditions’ which included the $99 charge. Therefore a refund is not possible.
