These guys have an advertisement outside their office saying "drivers and EMTs wanted".
Going inside, I had to be let in. The place looks scruffy - it looks like one of those fly-by-night operations. I was handed an application form.
On the form it stated that I had to pay $26 for a SLED background check, $20 for a national background check and $6 for a report from the driving agency. That's $52 OUT before they have even had an application.
So, the form was submitted on the basis that nobody else was likely to be stupid enough to fork out that money. Then I heard nothing. I went back several times over the interveining 6 weeks and was fobbed off with excuses such as "the HR guy is ill".
Now I find I have some strange things on my credit monitoring service. Looks like these people could be into identity theft. Not impressed.
Needless to say - the operation seems to be run from an office that the public is barred from entering because it looks like a Hell hole. The yard in which they keep their vehicles seems to be just a dirt field. There are plenty vehicles there but none of them are ever out on the roads. I have never seen one actually driving anywhere.
