I clicked the web site paid the 39.95 to get verified email them I did n the download rental verified sent me, I have emailed this Emily lady 4 times since . no response.
I responded to a Craigslist ad about a property of interest. Nothing seemed too off about the price and/or photos. I got a response back and it is virtually identical to the previous post on here. It is as follows:

The rental we have available for rent today is a 1 bedroom 1.0 bath with garage in a high demand area. The rental has a washing machine and dryer.
There have not been any pets in the home so there are no smells, stains or odors. The home is pet friendly with no breed restrictions, we do not charge a fee or require a deposit but if your pet damages the property you are responsible for repairs.
To rent our property we require the following:
1. A valid Driver's License or Photo ID
2. The 1st months rent
3. Background check for each applicant
4. Rental Agreement (month to month, 6 months or 1 year), I'll bring this to the viewing

This is an affordable way for me to screen applicants based on prior tenant history and employment information. If you have a felony or poor rental history, I am flexible and I'll work with you.

I did fill in the Verified Rental thing and sent her its results. I don't see how it could have any info on there that could be hurtful to me. But if this is showing up as a scam, then there must be something bad! She acted like she was free this morning and now I've sent her 3 emails with no response. The rental verified thing was $29.95 too and I only paid it because I thought this could actually be some place I could see myself living. Wtf? Why are crazy people out there scamming.
Found an ad on Craigslist for a rental properrty without address. Contacted the "owner" of the property to get more information. Was sent this email:
I appreciate your reply and showing interest in my property. My rental includes spacious floorplan and 2 bedrooms 1.5 baths.
It's open right now with a rental agreement. I'll bring the rental agreement with me to the tour.
The property really does rent very fast. It is located in a great neighborhood. I ask for a background checks from all applicants.

I found a house for rent on craigslist. it seemed too good to be true, but i was caught up in the moment because i have been searching and searching, and finally this opportunity came up and i didn't want to miss out on it. so when i quickly got an email response saying that require a driver's license, first months rent, a background check and no pet deposit, I was thrilled! so I clicked on the link for the background check, paid the $40, and let"Jocelyn" know that I had completed it. the rest of the day went by and I didn't get another email back about when I could look at the place. so I called the number from rental verified and it was a woman who could barely speak English and told me that the company that had that phone number had changed their phone number so for my inconvenience they were offering me$400 vouchers to Wal-Mart and so on. I hung up. and then it clicked.... so I did a Google search for rental verified scam, and sure enough I have not been the only one.
My husband and I have been searching for a place to live on Craigslist when at last! we found a great looking place at a very reasonable price. The problem - no address was listed. I emailed the contact email asking for the address and asking about their pet policy. Again they didn't tell me the address. Here is the reply:

I (unfortnately) went to the site and paid for my ""background check"" and then replied to ""Viviene"". After over 12 hours of no response I googled Rental Verified and heard other horror stories and other people receiving this same email. Be aware; this is a complete scam. If something sounds too good to be true, it is.
