Rock Auto sent me a returned/defective walker catalytic converter as a brand new unit.

Isn't that illegal in most states?

The dingbats at Rock Auto then proceeded to leave the original owners return authorization card inside the "cat" box that they sent to me. How much more proof does one need that they are selling returned and defective parts? It cost my daughter several days of turmoil and four times the money to have a local garage do an emergency repair when their "returned-defective" part broke apart inside which shut the engine down after 3 months of use. Two mechanics in two different garages in two different cities, indicated that the original owner must have overheated the cat probably due to engine problems. Do you know what the Rock Auto Customer Service Supervisor had the audacity to say: you need to contact Walker and prove it was defective. Hey, stupid you are missing the point; DON'T SEND OUT USED AND DEFECTIVE PARTS.

Save considerable time and anguish and buy the part at a local discount store and then have it installed. The killer part is that the emergency repair is costing full retail pricing for the converter plus additional labor to remove/install thereby costing me 3 1/2 times the price of the original purchase. So much for a savings using Rock Auto.

PS: I am not normally an automotive complainer this being my first in 60 years. I even gave them the name and return number for the person who had sent the converter back one week earlier saying they didn't really need it anymore - SURE - so Rock Auto Customer Service is of ZERO help and they don't want to hear ANYTHING. Funny how they can take back a Cat with a ding in it with discoloration on the outside but refuse to do anything when their used part causes a complete car shutdown.

I purchase a brake kit (Brand- Power Stop) that includes rotors and pads. After installing them the brakes pulsed, like worped rotors or pads that would not break in propoerly.

I performed the break in process four times, than took it to a mechaic that specializes in alignment and brakes. The mechanic only works on alignment and brakes. I explained this to Rock Auot and their statement was they will not warranty the product they sold.

So I now have a set of new brake rotors and pads that pulse. Every time I drive my vehicle I am reminded of Rock Auto and their desire to back up the product they sell.

By the way this was the fourth set of Power Stop Brake Kits I purchased from them.

A reminder - It is less expensive to maintain your exting custormer base than it is to soliciate a new customer.
