We are going through this right now with this scam artist. He stole $5000 from my client through my company. As of this week he has been telling us it will ship every week since March. We told him we were calling the police and now no word from him!
I found Roseland Ice Box Company on the internet when I began building my home last year. The vintage hinges/hardware were exactally what I was looking for. John Flanagan was friendly on the phone and seemed knowedgable about his product. I had his address, email and phone number and I never dreamed this was an elaborate scam. The total cost of the hardware was $5,500 for a refrigerator and a freezer, expensive but worth it for what I thought I was getting
So I sent a deposit in about 6 months ago for $1000. He said it is hand forged stuff that is made in batches but I'd be hearing from him in January when he was ready to make my hinges and pulls. Sure enough, he contacted me in January asking for the final check of $4,500 and said it would be shipping later that week.... and then nothing. Sure he picked up the phone once or twice and was polite but complained he was having personal problems and would be working on my order 'very soon.
Then he just stopped picking up the phone or returning my emails.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY. It is just a scam. Maybe at one point he made the hardware but this guy clearly has major problems and is completely dishonest. I am on process of trying to recover my money.
The only order that seems to match the information provided shipped on May 26, 2015. It was long overdue, but it did ship.
I will contact the customer in CA, to first off see if it was him that posted this and to make sure he was finally satisfied. I hope he will post a rely here.
