I worked as the excavation manager for Roto Rooter and worked with our plumbers and field supervisors. The techs (plumbers) were given written warnings if they did not sale enough which I know is common in alot of places
Fields Supervisors were expacted to sell at least $10000.00 per week in excavation work wihich must have a profit margin of at least 60%. They were even required to charge for equipment on jobs where roto rooter had a sub contractor on a job with there own equipment.
A good example of over charging was when a sub contractor would give us a price to do the work for $950.00 dollars, Roto Rooter would charge the customer at least $5000.00 or more.
In a meeting the General Manager made a comment that if a customer would spend $7000.00 they would spend $10000.00. They also provided work and charged customers for work not needed especially in plumbing as well as sewer work.
I know that this company and their services is unethical. They are taking advantages of customers both in the residential and commercial industry.
