Royal Animal Rescue Reviews

  • May 26, 2015

Sassy was pulled from Orange County Animal Services on April 20, 2015 by Royal Animal Rescue in Weeki Wachee, FL. Sassy was spayed on this date. On May, 23, 2015 at 6am Sassy was handed over to the first driver by Doris White of Royal Animal Rescue for a 3 day transport to her adopter, that evening foster noticed that sassy was severely infested with fleas. On May 24, 2015 the layover foster family noticed that Sassy was not acting right. After observing sassy she noticed puss just spewing from her belly area. She immediately rushed sassy to the emergency vet where they determined that sassy had an absess from her spay – a month ago-and that she has been in this state for several weeks, along with her flea infestation, this did not happen in 2 days of transport.

Sassy was given a health certificate on May 20th as well. Clearly this vet issuing the health certificate needs an investigation as well. In this album you will see all the text messages between Doris and I regarding the adoption and transportation. You will notice that transport and everything having to do with it was handed to Doris on a silver platter, and Doris put forth NO effort at all. When confronted with sassy's medical issues Royal rescue tried to push blame off on the adopter and myself, which you can see in the screenshots in this album. Royal first claims that sassy was not their cat, they were holding her for the adopter, when the adopter and Doris did not make contact until at least a week after Sassy was pulled.

The text messages show doris's lack of communication with the setup of transport, as well as you can see doris refused to assist in getting sassy to a sooner transport that was going to the same location as the adopter on May 2nd, with the excuse that she could not get to any of the legs of transport. Only for us to find out that same day Doris pulled from OCAS and was 20 miles away from one of our legs of transport. The poster to the Royal Rescue page is a mystery, no one knows their identity. A Driver for sassys transport that was trying to make contact with Doris after several attempts to contact Doris with no answer, went to Royal rescue on 5/20/15. She was greeted at the gate and was asked by a volunteer “are you here for the sick cat”.

The driver proceeded to explain her business there and was told Doris and sassy were at the vet. Driver then asked if she could view the adoptable animals and was told no, the woman then went in the gate and locked it behind her. Sassy is now in limbo with transport. She is halfway home, needing to see the vet tomorrow, as well as again before her next scheduled transport on 6/13, will need a completely new health certificate because the one provided clearly was false, and the adopter,600 miles away is losing sleep over sassy's condition, the fact that sassy traveled in 3 transport cars infested with fleas, infested the layover foster, which now has to bomb her entire house, not to mention is receiving threats from Doris for a lawsuit.
