Russ is not good for trail training experience for already broke horses and don't look to this guy for any serious training or proper starting of young animals. This man TOTALLY takes advantage of beginner riders and owners. A year of training with this gentleman will barely yield the results of 30 days training with most decent horseman. He either doesn't care or doesn't recognize how to match up the right horse for the rider's level of experience. He has a truly limited knowledge base, yet charges the same prices of world renown clinicians and trainers. Don't waste your time and money with this guy.

I have had several horses in training with Russ over the years and have had nothing but positive results. Secondly, taken many clinics and lessons. If you watch horse training videos from some of the most famous clinicians:Clinton Anderson,Chris Cox,Dennis Reis,Craig Cameron and on and on they all teach how to lay a horse down for just the reasons Russ gave. I am 64 yrs old and my first experience in colt breaking was with my grandfather who put my first horse down and told me to go get a comic book from the house and come back. Which I did (I was about 8yrs old) Then he said sit here on her neck and read the comic book and when you are done let her up and we will go for a ride. Well it worked she was a 1200lb witch before and a sweet respectful doll when done. I bet you think hobbling a horse is cruel also. These animals are not pets and are dangerous if allowed to get away with being disrespectful. It was wrong to post these types of reviews and ruin a person's reputation unfairly especially when you obviously know nothing about horses.
