Sam Pack Ford Reviews

  • Jun 30, 2014

I've now had two issues with the Sam Pack Ford in Lewisville, Texas attempting to over charge me.

The first one:

I took my Escape in to get the AC unit changed. While my warranty covered the $1,200 charge, the issue fell when it was time to pay my deductible. On my warranty, the deductible box was not checked and, in that same box, it stated that if no deductible was checked that I would only owe $100. Instead of honoring the terms of my warranty, the service department claimed to have instead called my warranty provider who quoted a $250 deductible! Warranty in hand, I pointed out the flaw and the service department still refused to cooperate. After a stressful debate I finally called my provider who was happy to comply with their terms of agreement. They eventually called Sam Pack Ford who only then agreed to comply with the terms as well. How can a business refuse to honor the terms of a warranty that are written very clearly?

Second incident:

The service light came on in my Fusion so I took it to Sam Pack Ford in Lewisville. Upon arriving at the service department, I was told that I had to sign several documents before I could leave my car for service and also before I even knew what was wrong and how much it would cost to repair. One of the documents said that I would agree to pay $150 for a diagnostic test! Before I signed I asked the man if my warranty would cover this cost to which he went inside, called my warranty provider, and confirmed that diagnostic tests were indeed covered, so I signed.

Later when they called to tell me the findings and how much it would cost to repair, I had to tell them not to begin any work as the cost was out of my budget. When I arrived with my husband to pick up the car, the service department said we would have to pay the $150 for the diagnostic. I explained to him that another employee had called my warranty provider and said the cost would be covered. The man then said that since the warranty didn't cover the parts that needed to be changed, that the diagnostic would also not be covered. I was so outraged that I didn't even catch on to their scam. It was my husband who pointed out that since my warranty covers diagnostics, then the outcome of the test doesn't matter, it should be covered regardless.

The man stuck to his argument and refused to give the car back until we met this $150 fee that we were told would be covered. We finally got the manager who also stuck with the scam, refusing to return our car! After trying to logically reason with him for a while, he finally only let up after we threatened to get every new station in the DFW on site to publically expose their scam. I cannot believe that we were put through so much stress and intimidated to pay $150 for a test that is normally free at places like Auto Zone.

How disgusting that Sam Pack Ford would go so far to squeeze money from their customers. I will never give them my business for as long as I live.
