San Antonio Military Medical Center Reviews

  • May 20, 2015

From April 1, 2011 until March, 2015, I was dismissed with "Chronic Pain" Treated with up to 8 percocet/day plus, after new symptoms from surgery, 50 mg patch added. During this period, I had acupuncture, which worked for about a week. Prednizone, worked about a week and then no guidance from provider. Begged provider (she was fired) to help me other than drugs. Didn't happen. New provider, absent ten months, scared me into having colorectal surgery and new symptoms, to include leaving North Central Hospital without bandages being changed, I had an infection; led to hernia repair which led to major problems. I contacted Commander repeatedly - I have email showing that I was thrown out of neurology clinic because I requested a new doctor as the Chief at Army Hospital struggled to read MRI. Her "hatchett man" came out, yelled at me and called me a doctor shopper, told clerk to send me off post. That began another nightmare.

Tests were done (EMG) but no guidance. During almost 20 months after surgery, I requested she forget chronic pain and see why, all of a sudden I was having extreme gastro pain; constipation/incontinence and something that pushes in at tailbone that causes my nerves to fire. Finally, requested safe withdrawal and left BAMC, but, my condition is so bad nobody wants to deal with me. Four doctors who ignored me were fired - believe me, it is not easy to fire civilian workers. The leadership of Brooke Army Hospital blew me off and now, nobody wants to deal with me. DRUGS! Handed out like candy. FAILURE TO TREAT NEW SYMPTOMS and I'm the victim of being totally ignored. Our soldiers are treated at this place - what treatment do they receive? I have letters written to commander; yet no follow up. I will try to send letter explaining. I will be glad to send communication between myself and doctors, commanders; anything you need to see how treatment/lack thereof, has me in such a mess nobody could possibly deal with two plus years of ignoring my insides and pain in tailbone.
