This company formerly known as Pepe's Towing has had a long time reputation for predatory towing and has been investigated for their predatory towing practices in a case involving the death of a man one of their drivers ran over during a predatory tow. In 2014 I reported them to the Santa Ana Police Department for their tow trucks driving around apartment and housing complexes with their lights off (after dark) and their tow bars down just looking for cars to snatch and even laying in wait to pounce on cars that often were not in any violation.
The first of July this company illegally towed my car from inside a closed garage which is included as part of a rental agreement for my apartment. They claimed the car did not have a valid tab and that is why it was towed. The car was inside a closed garage and was recently purchased and had a trip permit clearly visible in the rear window in lieu of tabs.
The tow truck driver had to pass at least one other vehicle with tabs that expired in 2010 and left the car parked next to mine in the garage with tabs that expired in 2011 alone only towing my vehicle which had a valid trip permit allowing it to be moved as a newly purchased vehicle.
I believe they conspired in towing my vehicle as retaliation for filing a police report against them for their predatory towing tactics.
