Sardar Mansoor Riaz Abbasi – CCIE – Scammer, Thief, Fraud

On March 5, 2014 Mr. Sardar Mansoor Riaz Abbasi contacted me for CCIE Service provider rack rental to prepare for his real labs.

On March 9, 2014 Mr Sardar Mansoor Riaz Abbasi contacted again, saying his CCIE SP Lab is scheduled for the 25th or March, and so he needs to practice the Real labs very urgently. Requested 70-74 hours in total.

We also agreed that the rate is $5,5usd/hour and and we start from him prepaying for 40 hours. Invoice was sent to [email protected].

Next day on March 10, 2014 the conversation started from how and when he could start using the rack, no payment has been made.

Due to his very limited knowledge in Cisco and Networking in general (despite him desiring to achieve CCIE which most regard as the PhD in Networking), such as not knowing how terminal software Putty/SecureCRT works, I advised Mr. Sardar Mansoor Riaz Abbasi to check CBTnuggets CCENT (entry-level network technician level) or INE CCNA course which is free and it covers all the topics he had concerns about. As it turns Mr. Sardar Mansoor Riaz Abbasi wanted to become CCIE without starting with CCENT/CCNA by memorizing questions and answers from stolen exams. (sort of like trying to become a doctor without the high school)

Later that day he requested for 1 hour trial, and then if it works he said he would take 6 hours.

During the trial the problems started:

1) He did not know how to remove/upload the configuration in switches

2) H hadad lots of problems removing and uploading the configuration file to Cisco 12000 router.

After checking myself, I was able to complete the task he wanted to accomplish in less than 25 seconds. While for him it was an hour of never ending nightmare.

So I provided him a free workbook set for $399, for which I never even got a thank you.

Then at midnight (my time), which was daytime where he was at in Pakistan, he requested for another day session, flooded the Skype with “hello” and callings saying it's his session time and that he is wasting his time. Yet, the login information was given to him before and I already confirmed and scheduled that time he wanted prior to his midnight bombardment. Again, he irrationally says he expects me to be there, and no talk about the payment.

On March 12, 2014 I asked status update about the payment, since the rack was used daily. He advised that the payment will be done on March 13, 2014. Which was totally fine with me.

March 13, 2014 - no talks about the payment, he tries another rack.

Password problems -he cannot type Oo9 (the password I gave). This unusual inability to type a 3-character password resulted 30 or 45 minute problem to log in.. Eventually after a lot of huffing and puffing, he was able to , exclaiming that the password is too difficult for him.

He was advised around 01:54:00 to renegotiate the speed by entering this line: int gi 0/3/0/0 negotiation auto into the XR series routers. By 03:44:00 he still had problems entering these 2 commands, and flooded the Skype saying the ports are not working. By 03:52:00 he was still disoriented. So I had to go myself to enter this command, and show him the output – it took me around 1 minute to enter the command, while for Mr. Sardar Mansoor Riaz Abbasi it was a mission impossible for 2 hours, if I havent came to help him out – the I guess this would have been the end of the world.

By 04:08:00 he says he had started. By 07:22:00 he decided that R6 is not working for him, issuing the entry level command, “reboot r6” was way too difficult for him. And he also turned out not to know the “wr” command, nor the “nvram” function- These are things that people should know even before getting the most entry level of Cisco certifications. Please note again, that within a span of a few months, Mr Abbasi was attempting to gain a Cisco certification that has an 18% passing rate, a certification that asserts one's status as an NETWORKING EXPERT.

So in the end around 9 hours or so were wasted, because of his complete lack of knowledge. He then was asking to waive the fee. His issues were all stemming from not knowing how to operate Cisco Devices- there was nothing wrong with the rack rental service that was at any point in our dealings with Mr Abassi. Immediately after his session, we had another client, a Portuguese network enginner who was attempting to achieve a second CCIE Certification, after achieving a CCIE R&S a few months prior while using our rack rental services. We asked him to go over the “issues” Mr. Abassi encountered just minutes prior, and nothing was found- the things Mr. Abassi encountered were nonexistent. We sent Mr. Abassi the screenshot of our conversation with the Portuguese client, and he ignored that, but instead, he asked for another session for next day. However, he was still quiet about the status of the payment he claimed to have sent earlier.

March 14,2014 – He asked for the PayPal invoice again, supposedly he will pay via the PayPal Link was sent – no payment was made. But he advised that his brother will pay shortly.

March 16, 2014 – No payment was made. However, he then said he will do Western union payment.

On Match 18, 2014 – I told him that access to the rack has been suspended until this whole situation got resolved. At this point, he used nearly 20-25 hours of rack time

He provided the Western Union information, saying he had already made the payment, giving WU number: 8821251279. So with that number in hand, I let him commence the rack usage again.

On Match 19,2014 – I went to western union, and WU agent advised that information on transfer does not match. Senders and Receivers info does not match.

So I requested for clarification and copy of the transfer. He said he will do it once he gets back to the office.

On March 20, 2014 – he advised the he spoke with the agent in WU, and they will do changes. The WU office closed by 5PM in Islamabad, Pakistan, so he said if its OK if he fixed it next day. (Assuming that I have never encountered scam before for 245$ I was ok with it. He needed help with his lab to pass and because of the substantial investment needed to take the exam, the lab exam costs $1500 plus he had to fly to the Cisco test center in dubai and pay for hotel fees during his stay, I thought its not a big deal to wait).

March 21, 2014 – lots of time spent in WU according to him, almost everything is OK, he had to pay extra to make adjustments, but it should be “OK”. So within 48 hours it should be changed, and he needs the rack very badly again. This really made no sense because when I asked the western union personnel how long does adjustments take in order to take into effect, they told me it usually takes no later than 15 mins.

March 22, 2014 – 2 or 3 days until the lab. He claims that changes will take max 48 hours, and he needs to the rack so badly. So I contacted WU by online chat, they said that there were no changes done on the transaction. And that there was still a mismatch on the names of the server and receiver of the transaction I entered.

At the same time Sardar Mansoor Riaz Abbasi was not able to provide the copy of the receipt transaction. ( I guess with a good reason). So this time, I said lets first try to clear this payment situation, before we move on with more rack access. At this point, he logged nearly 45 hours of rack time, wasted many hours and energy in dealing with his irrational communication, and I still have not gotten payment.

On Match 23, 2014 – Mr. Abassi shamlessly demands for the rack, and claiming that its late in Dubai, however Western union offices are open till 23:59:00 – so I asked to go there and figure out whats going on, since WU is using the centralized system. He kept trying to change the subject, by trying to get the access to the rack.

He said he is an engineer, and not a cheater. That I should trust him and so on. So initially, he “paid” $210, used rack time worth $245, and wanted another $100 worth of rack time. For my inquiries of the “paid” amount that still was stuck in limbo at Western union, there was no more comments of his brother who he claimed made the Western Union payment, no more WU, and now I am completely ignored on Skype.

Eventually, I contacted the western union customer support one more time, and it turns out, that transaction that I couldnt pick up because the names did not match, eventually was cancelled. So what he did was, 1. Initiated the money sent of $210 with a receiver name that was not my own. Thus I was lead into continually giving his rack time while we sorted out the issue of the money that western union confirmed was there.

2. So despite Western Union affirming that the value and the MTCN transaction number matched, I couldnt pick up the funds until Mr Abassi fixed the issue with the mismatched names.

3. After realizing that despite his cajoling he couldn't secure any more free rack time until he really fixed the issue with the names, Mr. Abassi cancelled the transaction and reimbursed himself.

From excessive flooding – to no more response. He pretends to be invisible, as if I dont know that he is online.

Be very careful when dealing with Mr. Sardar Mansoor Riaz Abbasi – if you are employer – he has no CCENT level knowledge. If you planning to have some business deals – make sure you collect the payment first. Otherwise, you might be another victim of his scam.

Photos of the chat, pictures and so on are included. So you can judge on your own.
