ScoreSense Business Is Booming

After reading all the complaints against this Scam Company, I couldn't help but put in my two cents. Yes, I am a victim of this scam, but it seems that the company is doing so well that they have increased their fee from $29.95 to $39.95 per month. I guess all of the complaints do nothing to deter them from continuing with their thievery. The law obviously can not do anything to stop them, or they just aren't trying. I guess we'll have to wait till they steal from the wrong person. (Another criminal or high ranking official) to see any kind of action against them. Let us not forget that it is not just the company, but it is the people that work for them that are poisoning our sense of values and morality. These are American people, my friends, who allow them to run their schemes and look the other way, as long as they get paid. Even get commissions on their sales? Sorry, but who is at fault here? Maybe you shouldn't answer that question/

OTL*SCORESENSE.COM 855 259-1783 PURPORTS TO BE A CREDIT MONITORING SERVICE ; THEY HAVE DEDUCTED 29.95 A MONTH FOR THE PAST 3 MONTHS WITHOUT ANY KIND OF AUTHORIZATION FROM THE CARD HOLDER or services renderd by OTL.I have NEVER contacted ,been contacted or recieved any kind of info from them concerning why , how , or who gave permission to debit my account for nearly 90 dollars ( AND THE JUSTIFICATION ON MY STATEMENT OF " CASH TRANSACTION PENDING " in no way explains their theft of monies = the only transaction I am aware of is them stealing the money WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A KISS !

As this is being stolen out of my social security account I have contacted SSA and am dealing with their investigators ( crossing state lines or wire fraud seems to interest them ... ) I have made numerous attempts to contact them (OTL ) by the phone # they give but it is never answered . I suspect that this is another swindle / bunco operation organized and run by some " TONY SUPRANO " WANNABES and am amazed that the attorny general of Texas ( where they are located in theory ...) has not put a stop to this blatant theiving frauds .

No services , reports , documentation have I received- no verbal , written , direct or implied consent has been given by me to " allow " them to steal my money !!! Originaly I would have been happy just to get the amount removed from my account returned - now I am not so sure ( besides that would almost certainly make any criminal prosecution much more difficult.

I frequently check my credit card statements for fraudulent activity. I found a charge of $29.95 from Scoresense which I did not authorize. After calling them, they claimed I signed up for some type of credit service back in July of 2014. So I asked why are you charging me now in April of 2015?!?! No good answer. I told him I wanted my money back and he claimed he would put in a request for a refund and I will receive an e-mail on their decision. This really p***** me off! I called my Credit Card company and complained. They’re going to do their own investigation, make certain I get my money back and send me a new card. Scoresense is a scamming bunch of thieves who need to be shut down! Thanks for letting me vent!

On april 3 i found out that i was over drawn in my bank account. i know that wasn't right because i had $29 in the bank. so i got to looking at all my tranactions and i seen this scoresense on there. and they had taken out 29.95. i wsa in shock, i did't know what this was, so i got to looking and they had been taking it out of my account for 6 months.i called them and ask how i got in this mess and they said i did a credit check for $1 and i was suppose to cancel after that, and i did not.so that made me a member.i was very upset and told them to stop taking any money from me again.i feel like i was scan. i ask for some of my money back, and about 2 days later i got a email saying i would not get no refund. I just think people should know about this company and how they cheat people.

In 2011 I subscribed to the rip off scam of OTL*scoresense. On December 30, 2011 I contacted the company and cancelled my account. In October 2012 they secretly began charging my credit card $29.95. As I did not scrutinize my statements this continued until October 2013. They had charged my account in excess of $200. I contacted them, and after numerous emails and phone conversations, the account was again closed. I contacted the credit card company but only a token amount was reimbursed.

Now, 2015, they have once again been attempting to debit my credit card account. I have sent numerous emails and only get their electronic reply stating I need to contact them? We called the credit card company, who contacted scoresense and once again they stated they would close the account that was closed in 2011.

My dad signed up for what they said was a $1.00 only credit report, He was then debited $29.95 for over a year!! My dad just noticed his statement being off. (He has been ill for a long time) I am furious that this company did this to my dad and wonder How many others they RIPOFF

  • Feb 21, 2015

I gave them my credit card to get my credit score. They then billed every month for some kind of credit card protection, which I was not aware of. I got back 5 months via my credit card company, but they stole about 5 months from before I found it on my credit card statement.

  • Feb 20, 2015

I know I called what I thought was FreeCreditReport Co, I don't remember them asking for a Credit Card. Was really surprised that I got charged a $1.00 now they have charged that Card for $29.95----- what the hell for?? Never got anything from this SCAM place, no Credit Report, nothing. I'm calling them tomorro, asking for a complete refund. How do they think that it's OK to charge my Credit Card----I didn't order anything from them.

October, November, December and of course now January... ScoreSense has helped there self to my freaking bank check card account. Sadly I have not looked at my account much because I am very aware of what I spend money on. $29.95 each month for such and I had no clue until today which is January 18, 2015. I wouldnt have known but by pure bordem I set down to look for a old transaction and noticed OTL*ScoreSense $29.95 pending.

I had not one clue what this was for. I then looked at the last 6 months of transactions and sure enough there is other dam transactions from this company I did not approve of or even know about. They helped there self to MY MONEY!!! Not just once but now 4 times. I searched through every email account I own to see if they pop up and sure enough they do not because I do not erase any emails.

The real kicker is I WOULD NEVER BUY MY CREDIT REPORT!!! I can get it for free from www.annualcreditreport.com and if I want to know my score I go to my bank and its free from all 3 credit reporting companies. This $29.95 will not ever be paid to you ScoreSense and I will be filing a lawsuit if I do not get the rest of my money returned. This is FRAUD and theft!!! A criminal act!!!

I asked for my "free" credit reports. They signed me up for monthly monitoring on a free trial. I cancelled it. They stopped for a month and I just noticed that they started the charge again after cancelling it. They are a total ripoff. Citicard is crediting back to me and will take it up with Scoresense. Such a JOKE. They say they are protecting you, but they are ripping you off.

  • Jul 30, 2014

I was on line trying to get a free credit score,I thought they needed my credit card info to do this an altogh I did not give them the athority they are taking monthly payments off of my disability direct exspess debit card, please help...I totally feel like I was scammed.......

  • Jul 26, 2014

They faulsely obtain your credit care with bait and switch tatics. Say they are only charging $1 then charge out of the blue $29.95. Beware! they charged my child support card and will not refund me. they say i need to go to the police!

  • Jul 25, 2014

I can't believe how easy it is for this to happen. 15 MONTHS OF CHARGES = $449.15. Just like amaury in Miami Beach, my wife bought a car last year, checked our credit score and somehow we end up being subscribed to a "credit reporting service". I just noticed a charge on my checking account did a search and found 15 deductions. I understand that I need to take a closer look at my statements but in all that time I never got one email saying that my account hadn't been accessed in over a year. Yes, they pointed out there were 13 messages on my account on their website - how the hell do I see those messages if I don't even know that I have an account to access!

The lady on the phone was very nice and sounded sympathetic but she said all she could do was file yet another refund request- no supervisor to talk to, no coroprate phone number, no email - only a mailing address. When I put "scoresense" into Google the 4th most popular hit was "Scoresense Scam". That gave me an indication how widespread this scam is. I was astounded to see 340 reports on this one company.

Anyone know how you start a class-action lawsuit?

  • Jul 25, 2014

I had an awful experience with ScoreSense. I need a credit card report last year and searched the website, and this company pops on my screen from nowhere. Being trapped by the words "free", I used this website. I don't remember there was a monthly fee of $29.99 at the time when I use it. And that was February 2013. I usually don't pay enough attention to my credit card report, and last week I was so shocked to find out that I was charged $29.99 monthly fee for 17 months! I called this company immediately, and after the second call, I received an email telling me that I could only get refund $1.00 out of $500! Then after the 4th call, I was only able to get $29.95 refund. Then I begin to search for this company, and find out that there is so many complaints about this company, and all these complaints are truth! This company is a real scam.

They charged my credit card $29.95 - Im not sure why - when I signed up for a credit report i made sure i went to a free credit report site, how I got to score sence beats me. I read on the website that I would be monitored for 30 days free and if i wanted to cancel i can do so prior to the 30 days - I did - then noticed that they charged my credit card after 7 days. I contacted the customer service she tried in every which way to keep me signed up even by charging me $4.95 a month - I stated I was not interested, however at this time I didnt realize i was already billed $29.95. When I did I contacted customer service, they stated they can not do anything but then stated they will submit a request and if approved they will give me my money back. I stated that was unacceptable and requested to speak to a manager. He said the same thing. Its as if they have a written manual infront of them and just repeat the exact line. I called another time and i asked for the Corporate offices telephone number, the agent gave me a number. I called that number only to find out it was still customer service and went over the whole story again and still got the exact same words. I asked the agent for the corporate offices telephone number and he stated he doesnt have one. I asked how they get a hold of them, he told me they email them at [email protected] none of this makes sense. this company is fraudulant and rips you off. Do not and I state do not ever go or sign up with any company that states you will be signed up with score sence and only be charged $1.00. Thieves. Customer care also stated that Corporate might not even agree to give me a refund. I still dont understand how they do not have a telephone number for the corporate office and why the hell did the agent give me another customer cares telephone number. Im going to call my credit card. When I told the agent I was going to contact the BBB he stated you can do so and we can argue about this all day but I nothing will happen. that alone tells you something.

Sometime in June, 2014, I looked at houses on Craigslist for rent. I saw some for sale and I checked into it. (I know, mistake number 1.) I then had to get a credit score which cost a dollar ( to verify identity and would be refunded,) which made no sense since credit scores werent needed to finance the home (mistake number 2.) I get the credit score, which was worse than I thought, so I figure oh well. A few days later, I check my bank account and am about to make a car payment through online banking, when I see a charge of about $30 (which has just taken from my new car payment.) I call the company and the rep tells me I signed up for credit monitoring.

I tell her no and explain to her that it sounds like a great product, but I make $12 an hour, have poor credit and no need for this service at this time. That yes, I do desire to dispute my credit report, but I am in the process of movingout of state and do not have time or extra money to do this. She persisted, even offerring a lower rate. Again, Im moving and dont need more stuff to deal with or extra expenses. She agees to send a refund request to her boss, but still pushes the $12.95 plan. I was at work, security at a front gate. I told her I needed to go, she continued talking. I finally said Ma'am, I have to go! She continued talking and I hung up. My bank wouldn't do anything except cancel the debit card. I was moving in 3 days from that point, a new card would have taken 5-10 buisness days to be reissued. I didnt want to carry cash along my 1232 mile trip.

Moved, I'm not working. My bank doesnt have any branches in my new state, so if I cancel the card, I cant access money. I figure ok, I lost $30, get over it (mistake #3.) I didnt want the service, the company was made aware, I'm out $30, but I have to focus on registering for school and finding work (mistake #4.) I get up today and see there is a 12.95 charge on my card for this same service. I call the company again and this rep reads the notes and says "OH, the notes say you like the product and that you can use this service and that you agree to continue for the reduced rate." I tell her 3 times to either listen to the recordings (before you reach the rep, recording says all calls recorded,) or have her spvr listen to them. She says she will make notes and notify her spvr, and submit to her buisness dept a refund request for the fee, but in the meantime, tries explaining to me how I will benefit rom thier product. I again repeat I don't want thier product. She continues, so I tell her the account her company charged will be closed ASAP and a complaint will be filed with the BBB. Then I hung up.

I created a profile for "scoresense," a website claiming to offer free credit information, in June 2013. I entered my check card information, as the website requested it for a one time charge of &1. I just noticed 5/12/2014 that I was being charged 29.95 every month since then. I called their customer service number 05/12/2014 around 1pm central and a rep told me they sent me a "welcome email" informing me of a monthly charge for a service. The rep also said their terms of agreement were posted "somewhere on the website." But this doesn't explain why I authorized a one time charge of $1.00, but was charged $29.95 many times. And claiming to tell me about it is not the same as getting my expressed permission. I spoke with another rep on the same date, "Jim" badge #1114135. He said he would not be able to provide me with a receipt or statement for the charges to my account. He also could not prove that a "welcome email" was sent to me, and had no way of confirming that it was received by me. I received and email 05/13/2014 from scoresense customer care saying I will be refunded $1.00 of the $359.40 they stole from me. And I am still waiting for that $1.00 refund.

Update: as of 5-14-2014, I noticed a refund of $29.95 and $1.00 posted to my checking account. These transactions are still pending. I filed a complaint with FTC and BBB. After reviewing my statments I came up with the exact amount to be refunded minus the pending transactions when they are completed. I emailed their customer care to inform them of the remaining $299.50 that still needs to be refunded to me.

For those who are having trouble dealing with Scoresense, the biggest SCAM company in the world, contact the corporate office, One Technologies at 469-916-1700 and talk to a customer service person there. I did this after getting the run around with Scoresense and they cancelled the bogus account and refunded the entire amount billed to my credit card. They are also much nicer people to deal with than the jerks at Scoresense.

  • Jul 14, 2014

My wife and I share a Citibank credit card. I take care of the payments. On the May 2014 invoice I saw a charge I did not recognize; neither did my wife. I called the company, Scoresense, and was told that it was for credit monitoring and credit reports and that my wife had signed up almost a year ago. They admitted that she had not used it.

My wife never ordered the service and never received any emails or any communications from this company. I requested a refund, but the company only authorized one month ($29.95) for April plus one dollar for July. The company denied the request because "you requested the refund after your communicated billing date." Leaving aside the ungrammatical construction of that sentence, it is true that I missed the previous charges, but that should not entitle Scoresense to keep its ill-gotten gains. Besides, neither my wife or I ever requested its services.

I suspect what happened is that we received a communication stating that our credit card company's records had been compromised, offering free credit reporting and monitoring as compensation for one year, and we accepted that. But I have no idea how Scoresense obtained our credit card information to begin with.

Both in my attempts to obtain a refund, and later in an attempt to communicate with Scoresense's legal department, I have met with nothing but obstructionism and sleaze. As I am a lawyer, I am considering a class action lawsuit, because this company is obviously a scam. I found other complaints after a Google search.

  • Jul 10, 2014

I signed up for the free trial, and didn't even get the full report. It reads "Sorry we are unable to provide Equifax's credit report at this time." I have been trying to call since the 5th day of the trial period and can't get through. The message just says sorry we are experiencing technical difficulties at this time. And now they have debited my account $29.95!

  • Jul 8, 2014

I signed up for a free credit report with scoresense. They said you had to provide credit card information and would charge $1. I had no idea there was any kind of ongoing service associated with scoresense. I did receive an email thanking me for signing up. I did not see the notification in the email saying that I would be charged $29.95 if I did not respond and cancel the service within 7 days.

I called after I saw the charge on my credit card like so many other people that have reported this company. It was 2 weeks after the initial contact with scoresense. A nice gentleman on the phone said he would take the $1 off my credit card and would ask for the $29.95 credit back to my card. I received an email from customer service today saying that I was denied because I was outside of the time period for cancellation this month.

It was not obvious when I signed up for the credit report that there were going to be other charges or services. This company uses fraudulent practices and they should be shut down. I wonder if their whole company model is based on getting that first and subsequent charge from customer after customer--until they realize that they are being charged.

This should be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

  • Jul 7, 2014

Scoresense is the scam that keeps on giving. If at any time you use them you remain in their files as a "member" even if you cancel and a request for a credit report as part of an online loan appplication, for instance, is routed through them unknowingly for $1.00 will trigger a "membership renewal" and a $29.95 charge seven days after the loan application!

I once signed up for ScoreSense directly two years ago and used it for a couple of months to monitor my credit. When it was no longer of use I cancelled it. Never did I imagine that I could be deemed to have reactived my membership when a third party made a credit report request on me through ScoreSense.

Beware of any online service that resorts to trickery to squeeze out one last payment for unwanted and unrequested services!

  • Jul 5, 2014

I recieved an advertisment for home refinance under Obamas HARP Program. When I filled out the information to see if I qualified I was redirected to Score Sense stating I need to get my free credit scores/reports. The scoresense site needed my credit card information to process the request for free credit scores/reports stating a $1.00 would show on my card for processing but it would not be charged. After a few days I called scoresense about the charge and they said the $1.00 was just a processing mechanism and it would never come off my account. They said their system needed to run the card to get the authorization so they could process the request. A few days later I saw scoresense charge my card an additional $29.95. I called ScoreSense and told them I did not authorize the charge and considered it fraud. I was told it was for a membership after 7 day trial. I told them this was supposed to free so Icould get my scores for the harp program . I also told them that the $1.00 charge was never supposed to be removed. The representative said he would have this reversed and return the $1.00 and the $29.95. Then I filed a complaint with my bank, The charges were not reversed and the bank has not completed thier investigation. I called scoresense again today and the reepresentative told me he had no record of my calls an that it was clearly noticed on page of the scoresense site that it was a trial offer, I told hime thats not true and the scoresense site I was redirected to is not giving any such notice. I also told him I hoped he wasn't using the HARP Program to get business by deceptive advertising. The rep said all he could to is submit a request for credit then he quickly got off the phone.

I used SCORESENSE to check my credit score for the car loan application. My mistake is the same the hudreds reported here. I did't notice YOU HAVE TO CALL US. BUT!!! 1. My credit scores by SCORESENSE are far different with scores disclosed by my lender.

2.The SCORESENSE DID NOT send me any warningmessages about the loan which was open on my name after SCORESENSE start their fake ""service"".

Bottom line is the SCORESENSE is pure America greed company, wish CNBC will put this on air soon.

STAY AWAY FROM SCORESENSE.

  • May 10, 2014

I made an initial purchase of 1.00 for the trial period and didnt see the 7 day refund policy . They then charged my checking account 29.95 for a membership . I called requesting a refund , the lady I spoke to said she would put in a request , 2 days later I called to inquire about my refund only to be told by another employee the original request had not been sent . He assured me he would submit another request . Its been 2 days now and I have yet to hear anything from them requarding a refund. I realize I missed a time period but I feel their aggressive withdrawl of my funds are wrong . If this is how they make their money then hopefully they wont be in business much longer . I wont deal with them again and advise you reading this and considering them to make sure you read the fine print . They evidently need my money more than I do so they can keep it . they better have better SCORE(SENSE) than to charge my card now that I have recieved and email from them cancelling a "membership " . Beware Folks ...................................

  • May 8, 2014

Signed up for a $1 credit report check with no idea they were going to take it upon themselves to start taking 29.95 from me with no authorization. I won't let up on getting every penny back and no one else should . This poor attempt to rip off cosiumers should put this terrible company out of business. This is a total scam, ripoff, and they should be closed . plus their uneducated customer service base, who thinks by saying calm down will make you, actually calm down should go back to school and learn something about business because this company is leaving you out to dry with all these problems it send directly to your poor excuse for a 1800 line. gimme a break lock their doors. SCAM SCAM SCAM they use third party websites to trick you, use a real credit protection agency. not this joke of a ripoff company !!! #gotcha.

  • May 5, 2014

Right off the bat why do you think they don't give you an option just to pay one time? If it is offered they sure make it hard to find. They automatically bill your account every month even if you only want to pay one time to check you credit one time. So that's what I did. I payed the 29.99 one time checked my credit called and cancelled right away. Sure enough the next month they billed my account again. They will claim you never cancelled with them. It should be illegal to do business they way they do. It should be offered right when you pay if you want them to continue to take money out of your account. No other business operates like this. If I buy a shirt online they don't continue to take money out of my account every month. I know I will probably not get a refund I just want to warn other people not to use their website. Their hope if that you will not notice or check your bank statements so they can continue to take 29.99 out of your account every month even if you only wanted to check your credit one time.

My husband signed up for the $1 7 day trial. I have been trying to call them to cancel their services since two days after he signed up to cancel it. When you call, it says that their members are all busy and to try back in 2-3 hours or that due to inclement weather in the area, the office is closed. These recordings have been the same for two weeks now. I sent an email requesting cancellation with no response either. Therefore, I have contacted my bank and have had my debit card cancelled immediately since I have now been charged the $29.95. This is a total rip off. It states to call within the 7 days to cancel and you will not get charged but never answer the phones. What a scam!!!!

  • Apr 22, 2014

Scoresense are ripoffs i canceled my seven day trial they said i cancel after the seven day. they sure don't tell u that it start when u first start up. They also told me that they sent me a welcoming email that i never got. this company need to be stop because they are big ripoffs.

Did not even discover that I was being billed for this service until under audit. Wife thought charges were for something else and I never look at statements (I guess that is what they hope everyone does). Do not even remember signing up for credit reports but perhaps we were looking for free or $1 credit reports at some time and probably went through this offer. HOWEVER, at no time was it clear (nor does anyone here remember) that we were going to be billed on a recurring basis. We never received, nor viewed, any credit reports at any time. We never received, nor opened, nor viewed, any correspondence, alerts, etc.., at any time.

The reason was that Scoresense was supposedly sending all reports, alerts, information, files, downloads, attachments, requests, etc...to an email address that was unrecognizable to us. Therefore, we never received anything stating we were receiving any services. We never responded to any requests for information. We never opened any attachments sent. We never opended any reports. When this situation was brought to my attention, we were billed for over one year. Spoke with a rep initially one the phone and he reviewed my account, which took some time to verify because I could not provide the correct email address.

I presented him with my current email address for future correspondence. He stated that after review, he could see that I never utilized any service, responded to any alert sent, opened any attachment, etc...and that the account had been canceled months previously. He stated the account was canceled for rejection of payment withdrawl attempt. The only reason that happened was because I had a card stolen and had to close that account and open a new one. The rep stated that he would send the request for refund in and I should hear back in 1-2 days. Heard back and it was an interesting email that I received. They approved a refund of the final month charge and also the initial $1 charge but denied the rest.

If you refund the initial charge and the final charge that means you acknowledge anything in between is inaccurate. However, after review, 7 of the monthly charges had been double billed and not refunded. So they kept 2x the charges for the decpetion. Another situation is where will the charges be refunded to because they have no information for me. I called again and explained the situation to another rep and she put another request for refund in. She stated that most are not approved but she could not make any guarantees because it all is reviewed by the corporate office in Dallas (which she stated they have no contact with, are not in the same city, and are instructed to tell the public not to contact).

I asked for the corporate office phone to speak with someone and she told me that was not possible but that she would give me an address and I could Google it myself and try to get a phone number. I am now awaiting the second response to my request. Even if they take the position that I should check my statements every month for accuracy, they cannot justly explain the double charges, the rationale behind initial and final charges refund, or how they are going to process any refund approved without my account information or contact with me. I will await their next decision and update this accordingly

Two days into Scoresense's trial membership, I am trying to cancel, as they promised consumers could do....with ease. However, I find that I am unable to reach anyone to cancel due to ""technical difficulties,"" and to ""call back later."" My guess is they will continue with this ""technical"" ruse until my trial time runs out and then they will collect at least $29.95 before I can get the thing completely cancelled!

There is no email address that I can find to cancel instead of trying to cancel over the phone. I believe they think people will give up after a while and simply pay a one time fee of $29.95...which can really add up for them if they have several unsuspecting consumers ""on the hook!""
