SDG

Doesn't pay his sub-contractors. Doesn't heed court orders. He is an embarrassment to the construction industry. DO NOT USE.

SDG Homes is full of broken promises. After talking to neighbors, the county, and township, SDG Homea has a laundry list of complaints. I wanted to warn anyone thinking of building a home with SDG Hone. (Trevor and his partner Ovi). Our closing date got pushed back at least 5 times, and we moved in with a temporary certifiacte of occupancy.

We had a contract of several things to be completed after we moved in or else they would have to release money to us for failing to complete the work. We withheld $27,000 in order to have work done within 90 days. Needless to say, most of the work never got done and we barely ever heard from or saw the builder again after we moved in.

When we contacted them in order to get our money, they threatened to take us to court because they said "some" of the work was done. Instead of going to court we settled on getting a little over half of the money even though almost all of the work was incomplete. We have been in our home for 3 1/2 months and still only have a temporary certificate of occupancy because they refuse to complete the final grade. We cannot make any changed to our landscaping or build a deck until this is done. They do not care.

We went 3 months without an air conditioning unit, and we still don't have screens on our windows. I have 3 very young children, and they didn't care they we were in a hot home without anyway to cool off other than fans in the month of June.

I have several vulgar emails from Vice President Jeff LeMay (J.J.), that show how unprofessional this company truly is. I have talked with the neighbors and they have all had a very similar experience, which is very unfortunate.

I could go on and on about how Trevor broke promise after promise, and failed to follow through 90% of the time.

Please avoid this company at all costs!!! If this saves one family from dealing with what we had to go through it is worth it.

Do not walk....RUN from this builder. SDG Homes is full of broken promises and has a long list of complaints from unhappy customers. Sadly there are not many reviews posted online for potential customers to get a real understanding of the nightmare you will endure if you choose them to build your new home. Please do yourself a favor and take the time to talk with past purchasers before moving forward with this company. I wish I would have practiced what I'm preaching so to speak and maybe I would have saved myself thousands of dollars and countless headaches. SDG will take your money and then take every opportunity to stall the process of completing your home. We missed five closing dates and from speaking with other SDG customers this is a very common occurrence. The craftsmanship of these homes are poor at best even resulting in several failed inspections. SDG homes president, Trevor Surdu is a smooth talker and will tell you everything you want to hear knowing he does not intend to follow through. Overall this company is a ZERO out of ten and I wouldn't have given the one star if I didn't have too. Again I strongly encourage you to walk the neighborhoods that have been built (Pine Creek Ridge in Brighton) and currently being built (Amberly Woods in Howell) and talk with customers of SDG homes before committing to anything. You will quickly see a pattern of negative experiences from one homeowner to the next.

I am on a mission to spread the word of this dishonest company in the hopes of saving at least one individual/family from the nightmare my family has endured.
