I purchased a diabetic alert service dog for my son, what I received was a non trained house pet. I have fully paid 20K to this org in the hopes of getting what we signed up for.

The org has stopped all communication with me and my family but still has all our 20K

We have filed a report with attorney general, irs, and postal inspector.

Buyer Beware when searching for a d.a.d diabetic alert service dog this org is a scam!

SDWR scammed our family. We did over 8 months of research before deciding on going with SDWR, which was known at the time as Guardian Angel Service Dogs. We were promised this dog would bring new hope for our child and for her independence. We were delivered a puppy who was suppose to have a "fast track" training. The dog was suppose to know general obedience and ready to be in the public. When our dog came, he did not know his name, did not know general obedience, and was not ready for public access. When puppy was delivered we were given a contract which we knew nothing about. We were told to sign it or the puppy would be taken back and no monies would be refunded.

Our dog was delivered on a Friday so there was no time to find a lawyer, let alone one that would could see immediately to go over the contract. As time goes on, our dog alerts on and off, then it slows down. In constant contact with our trainer who assures us, we are doing all the "right" things and he is just stubborn. We worked our butts off with this dog. My daughter worked and worked with him and I would work with him while she was in school. So time goes by and we are not satisfied at all, our dog is no longer alerting, obedience is ok, but not service dog material. Tried to work with the company to come an agreement and get out of our contract and we would not expect anything else from the company.

The only way the company would agree was if we signed a gag order. Yeah, dont think so. I wanted people to know what we went through. Well after his attorney said they would not agree to the settlement, he told us that we only had $300 left in our account (our account was update and another payment was due for almost a month) towards training, but SDWR was not going to be sending a trainer because we were out of money. Well if they were not going to send training, we were not sending money. So while we were up to date on our account, they stopped training. The day before our payment was due, SDWR/Dan Warren filed in VA for non payment.

Well after that, we definitely did not send anymore payments because we were now in litigation. Well he dropped the case in VA and file in our home state. He was asking for the return of the dog and the monies still owed plus attorney fees. Well we went to court (with no attorney) and we won to keep our dog. We had already paid all but $4000+ and the dog had already lived with us for 2 years. Then after losing to us for the dog, SDWR dropped that part of the lawsuit and was only after money. In front a panel of arbitrators, we each had our say and were dismissed around 2 pm. Their decision was filed and stamped 15 minutes later in our favor. SDWR has since filed an appeal against us and we are awaiting that decision.

We were scammed by Service Dogs by Warren Retrievers. I received a Service Dog for my Type 1 Diabetes, from Warren Retrievers in Madison, Virginia for nearly $20,000. The Dog is now 3.5 years old, and does not alert to my blood sugars as Dan Warren (owner) of Warren Retrievers claims he provides. Many families are also in this same group of receiving a dog that does not alert to Type 1 Diabetes. Warren Retrievers would send a trainer, every 3-6 months for a two day training session, in which the trainers never knew exactly how to correct the problems with the scent detection with the dog. When the dog was only 1 year of age, the Company actually delayed training with our Service Dog for about 14 months before we saw them again. The response was always given from the trainers, "the dog is still a puppy, and he will grow out of that trait/bad behavior."

Our family fully paid the debt to Warren, as soon as we could which was immediately following delivery of the "service dog" when he was only 4 months old! Once we had paid our $20,000, the return phone calls/ emails from the Service Dogs by Warren Retrievers stopped occurring.

We have filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office of Virginia, in which they have about 30+ other family complaints and are still under the process of a 2 year investigation.

This company needs to be stop scamming families into service dogs that are never correctly trained to help their intended disabled clients.
