Shane D. Massick DBA Freeman Street Construction was hired to remodel our home and business. He was paid for work he did not complete. He failed to pay subcontractors - Even issuing a worthless check to a sheetrock/drywall specialist.
Parts of the project are of extraordinarily poor craftsmanship. We paid over $20,000.00 for the exterior of our home to be painted and it looks worse now than it did before. The caulk used to seal each board shows through the paint. One of his employees damaged an area of siding that was never replaced.
Each part of the project took twice as long as he'd estimated. Everytime we turned around he hit us with exorbitant invoices which he called "change orders" for additional work he claimed had to be done to complete the project.
We were hundreds of thousands of dollars into this when he essentially walked off the job.
He is not a licensed contractor and while he currently lives and works in south Louisiana, he has ties to Texas and Colorado and may seek work outside of Louisiana.
